Many thanks to Paul mrdoug for a new to me blade to try, the Dorco Prime. I put the new blade in the Karve Bison and had a great shave. The blade is smooth and very sharp! I had 2 red spots on my chin due to me getting lulled into inattentiveness. Nothing the styptic pencil stub could not handle. And I can't get over how smooth my face feels! Thanks again, Paul!

I found them a bit sharper than the best personas, but still just as smooth. They've pretty much secured a spot as my top blade... Especially considering the price. You can usually pick them up for around $10 for $100. In comparison, the Comfort coated are around 15 and the German Platinum are $20? So a good savings to boot!
I can't speak to longevity, as I only use a blade either once or twice before pitching it. However, fwiw, this one is a 2 shave type of blade.
Hope it continues to impress. I'm off for my afternoon shave with the same.
Have a great rest of your weekend!

So, roughly $30 savings. Unfortunately, when I ordered one there was an error in their system. Long story short, Amazon was sending a hundred blades (The top picture) for $70. In discussing it with one of the representatives, they pointed out the error in their system and told me they didn't feel confident I'd ever get the right box. So, I just ordered a few hundred.
The red ones are not Prime blades. From what I hear they're pretty good, but not to the level of the prime. Also, they make a Titan blade. I have a Sample pack of those. They're very smooth, but I didn't feel I got really close shave from them. At least, not in comparison to the primes. Finally, they seem to have come out with a super sharp version of their blades. I could only find it in five packs in the US. My guess is the hundred packs just haven't reached the US quite yet. I do have a sample pack of those, but have not yet tried them.

Well now I'm tempted to get another bundle o' blades!

As my high school math teacher would say, today is a Heinz day...to catch up!
I have been working through my tub of Sheep and while I will get another tub someday, I am anxious to be using a different soap! But the ring around the tub is getting smaller while the hole in the center enlarges. Will it make it to next Sunday? Who knows!
Why next Sunday? Well, today was my 993rd consecutive shave, so next Sunday will be a milestone for me. I am thinking a Holiday should be declared and we should all have the day off with pay!! But somehow our rich uncle in DC probably won't go for that. So off to work I'll go, being That Guy as my aftershave will have very smug overtones, I am sure! (I imagine that in 2 weeks when Dave hits his 2000th shave, folks might pass out from the awesomeness of the achievement!!
Yesterday I reset a knot to bring the loft up to around 55mm. I was enjoying it set with no washers, but was finding it too scrubby/stubby. Nice thing about setting with silicone is that one can do these things easily enough. So the Trotter Quasar now has the AP Independent UHD knot set at about 55mm instead of 50mm.
Today I am going to my former work partner's retirement dinner. After 29 years, she is done. Between the Pandemic and issues from on high, she is, as the younger crowd says, so over it! She is 2 years older than me, but I have been content to stay Staff (the bottom rung on the old Rite Aid job ladder) while being a manager or more adds more levels of frustration, interference, and the compensation hardly makes up for the fecal matter you have to deal with (all my opinions, not hers, and not meant to reflect on anyone but myself). It'll just be us who worked with her, pharmacists, techs, and spouses. Sure there'll be some shop talk, but we'll also be humans, too!!
