Sure, it's all fun and games now. But not when someone goes batty and starts buying everything!

You guys crack me up! I needed a good laugh tonight!

I was all set to use the Karve razor tomorrow, even taking time to do a quick photo shoot this morning. But all day it seems like I kept reading about Slims and seeing them in SOTD pics. So I guess I will be a lemming and use my Slim! Better get it primped for a shoot tonight or tomorrow!

And I appreciate so much the fun in these Journals. Life can be challenging, and the banter, levity, and camaraderie are great!

Thanks, Dave. Yes, Delta Echo. I had bought a super-speed flair tip from Jay in what he called his Steampunk colors.  When I got a kind of crusty birth year Slim, he worked with me to get the color scheme I wanted for the Slim, in that same sort of steampunk fashion.

Jay was great to work with, turn around in 2016 was like 2 months, and communication was great. I am saddened that it appears he closed up shop several years ago.

On happier notes, I used the Slim this morning and had a wonderful shave!

Yep, Jay was great to work with and he did better coating than anyone as far as I'm concerned. Wish he was still doing them........ I had a slim done in his Cubano color scheme but it now resides with a member in Canada

Yesterday's shave with my Slim set to 4 was RCS and fairly efficient, but not long lasting. Which is fine, what with yesterday and today being my days off this week. So this morning I used the Karve with the A plate. Back in 2018 I did a series of shaves alternating my Karve, which was then new to me, with my Slim, which was The One at that time. This morning confirmed my older experiment: the solid bar A plate shaves a tad more comfortably with more efficiency than setting 4. As the day progresses, I will see about longevity.

For continued precision (getting the same result repeatedly, I hope), tomorrow I will set the Slim to my preferred work setting of 5, then the next day use the B solid bar plate. I used to shave on work days with the first pass on 6 and then drop to 5. If I stayed on 6, my face would be irritated, especially my neck. I had found the C solid bar Karve plate to do the same thing, so it was moved to a new home.

That is it for shave news. Still waiting for Yates to restock the stubby handle, which will then complete my order and I will have plates M, H, and the hybrid, as well as 2 handle options. I'll say it again, it's a great time to be wet shaving!

On the home front, the denial letter arrived yesterday from the insurance company. It was taking so long that we allowed ourselves a faint glimmer of hope that just maybe, after talking/interrogating my wife, the insurance decided to reinstate the authorization. Nope. I think they just ran out the clock, not officially responding until the 30 days they abide by had passed. So we will start the external review with Maine's insurance bureau. Thankfully, having done this in Dec 2019/Jan 2020, we have most of the work done and can start with what we had done and get it into shape with new information.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you all have a great day!

Edit: I for got to mention the weight of the Karve, even with the short handle, surprised me and almost felt awkward! I haven't used the Karve in almost 2 weeks, using mostly the Schick injectors. I guess I had gotten used to lightweight implements, and it took me a moment to readjust to the manly heft of a brass razor!

If you did DNA testing of insurance jackwagons. You would probably find they have goat DNA somewhere in their history. Evil bastards.
