Exactly so, Fluffy !!

I am four shaves in with the Amakuni now. The first three shave were done with a Schick Proline P-30 that already had 4 shaves on it. Today was NOT the blade shown in the above photo, but instead a Captain Titan Mild ProTouch MG with 4 shaves on it. And what a great shave! Tomorrow I may switch to a fresh Captain Titan Mild blade to get another blade tried. I am finding this to be a great razor, and a great addition to the other fine shavers I have in my shaver drawer. And please note: the 'greats' refer to my face and my style and my experiences!

And a general sort of question came up: how do you store an AC blade if it has several shaves on it but you aren't ready to bin it yet? The blade I used this morning had been sitting on the countertop and I cannot vouch that it wasn't moved around a lot. I once put a blade back in the dispenser, but worried how much damage I might have done to the sharp edge as I manipulated the dispenser to accept the blade again.

 
Hey Eric, magnetic fly boxes work great for blade storage.  I store AC, DE, FHS-10, GEM, INJ, and HS blades in them.  The blades don't slide around, and they don't fall out if you turn the box upside down (although tempting fate is not advised ).   The Post-it Tabs are removable, and for me, they often make keeping track of things easier - especially when shaving at o'dark 30.    And speaking of making things easier, a small magnet, while not strictly necessary, makes blade removal a breeze.

This is perfect Mike, thanks so much. Something I can easily use and slip into a drawer or narrow space to store. I am going shopping for a magnetic fly case! I thought about some sort of magnet (and for that I should consult the Magnet Master Ken Fluffy for his thoughts!) but I wasn't sure I wanted a magnet holding a sharp blade on the inside of a cabinet door. I know my wife would not approve a magnet mounted on the bathroom wall! But this is perfect!

I've purchased two form factors, both from Amazon.   The one posted above was sold by Kingfisher, but Kingfisher no longer sells it.  The second form factor looks like this ...


It is sold by Goture (among others), and is thicker but otherwise nearly identical in length and width to the thin form.  I have not used the Goture box except one time to place blades in it and turn it upside down as a quick test.  That said, I see no problem using the Goture with AC or INJ blades, but you may need to place DE blades very precisely, and I am not sure how well the other blade types would work.  I found the thin format currently branded "Keenso" and sold here.  The photography is off-putting, as it makes some of the separating ribs look warped.  But it ships free from Amazon if you're willing to burn $7.87, and it looks like it came out of the same factory as the ones I'vee been using for years.

Thanks Mike and Dave! I ordered both, as the one I wanted wouldn't arrive until after New Years, per Amazon. The other should arrive Tuesday. Less than $10 each, so worth it to me.

I felt the urge to use the Athena today. Lovely shave with a Personna Red and the rest of the gear. This razor gives a different sounding feedback compared to the Amakuni I've been using for the last few days. I wonder if it's due to the way the lather channels work. 

One thing I've been thankful for at work this season is that the Christmas music has been quite different from past years. There was one year that we had maybe 14 or 15 songs, played constantly all day. In 8 hours, a coworker said he heard the same song over a dozen times. And when one of the songs is one that you personally detest, it makes the day frustrating!!

So here is a version of my most-hated song played at Christmastime that I could get behind, with (minor) apologies if you love this song!

Hey Mike HighSpeed, according to Google, Last Christmas is a 1980s Christmas song by the group Wham! and it is now a staple on Christmas music lists. I suppose nothing is truly bad with the song, it just got overplayed and it not my favorite. So some wag on the interwebs mashed up the first lines with a synopsis of Poe's "The Tell-tale Heart. I hope that helps! And I am guessing that if you didn't recognize the lyric, you are also not upset that I made fun of it!!
