My new coffee mug at work
[Image: JIYZaQe.jpeg]
It reads:
The Earth is not flat
Vaccines work
We've been to the moon
Chemtrails aren't a thing
Climate change is real
Stand up for science

My coffee still tastes good, with just a hint of smugness!

Cool mug. The back side should read "Find joy and wonder in the process of discovery." Happy Friday Smile

Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you yourself will be just like him.
Answer a fool according to his folly, or he will be wise in his own eyes.
Proverbs 26:4-5

And Paul describes the reverse of this (i.e., putting up with fools) as a negative thing.  PM me if you want the chapter and verse.

Lol. I'm still trying to wrap my head around Eric's ewk post. It sounds contradictory... the two sentences of the verse. Such a deep, thought provoking discussion this early. My head may explode.

(I know you meant St. Paul)

Smile I was thinking of the tent maker from Tarsus.  He's older than you.

.. are you sure? My kids mock me as being older than dirt... the wheel... etc. We may need a ruling from the judges. Lol.

That's the nature of proverbs: "knowing what to do when there is no rule to tell you what to do." Many seemingly contradictory proverbs are presented in that way.

Applying wisdom means knowing whether someone will listen as you tell them they are about to blindly run off a cliff, or if they will throw you over the cliff for warning them.

Hey ewk, HighSpeed and mrdoug , I appreciate your comments! An enlightening and fun read.

My mug almost immediately annoyed one of my full timers, as they don't believe in seasonal vaccines (I think they believe others have value, but seasonal ones are just a gimmick for people who are hypochondriacs).

I felt a temptation to print off the article about the man who recently died after living most of his life in an iron lung. We don't hear of that sort of thing (thankfully) as often as in the 40s or 50s, but this dear man contracted polio as a child and needed the iron lung since the mid-50s. But printing off such a piece would not serve any purpose, and only work against me, as Proverbs point out. And I am not comfortable using someone else's life as talking point without permission.

And of course we went to the moon. Why else would we have Tang?!
