I thought all of you might find this interesting. While visiting Singapore a few months ago, I spent some time exploring the Asian Civilizations Museum. I found this “Shaving Basin” from the early 1700’s. Here is the description: Shaving Basin, Japan, Arita Kiln, Early 1700’s, Porcelain, “The cutout section of this Imari ware basin fits under the chin to catch water and lather while shaving.”
