if you order a custom brush via the configurator, does shavemac scale the handle size to the size of the knot?

I believe that is the default. If you want a larger handle than the knot size would normally warrant, I’d contact Bernd first: info@shavemac.de

Yes and you can see the dimensions when you expand any shape by clicking on the image and referring to the chart at the bottom. They have been pretty accurate in my experience give or take a mm in a few orders.

I own 7 Shavemac's that I designed myself, from 24mm to 28mm and everyone is perfect.  The knot perfectly matches the handle.  See photo below.

Nothing new to add, but just another confirmation the handle does scale the handle size up to the size of the knot.

some good looking brushes. What are the knot dimensions of the beehive and the green handle brush on the opposite end?   I should have pulled the trigger on the BF sale. Does shavemac have sales any other time of the year?

This was the first time I’ve ever seen a Shavemac sale, but I’ve only been a customer for about two years, so it’s possible that I’ve missed earlier sales.

There have been a few other sales before. They’re not a common occurrence. This BF sale was the best sale I’ve personally seen in 10 years, but it’s possible I’ve missed some.

I bought two brushes from the configurator, and while one was perfect, the other was a bit smaller than I like. both had the same sized and type of knots, 26mm x 50mm 2-band Silvertip Fan, first in style 89 handle which was perfectly sized, next in a style 386 handle which I felt was a bit thin. I contacted Bernd via email and was assured the sizing was correct. I've used it three times since I got it and agree that feeling it is different than seeing it and am now convinced it is the right size for the knot configuration. Yes, I agree that this BF sale was spectacular comparatively speaking. Both brushes were under $250 including shipping!

Not surprised to hear Bern did not take responsibility. He is good, he does a very good job, but when the ocasional mistake is made he hides in his cave.
Ime, ymmv and all the usual stuff.
