Used my father in laws many times and it’s a good shave for me. Nothing amazing that is making me go buy one but it’s was a close irritation free shave

When I first started using it I used the Feather Proguard and got very good shaves from it. Once I got comfortable with the very light touch, or controlled fall as someone once described it, I switched to Proline blades and get excellent shaves from this razor.

Thanks. Schick is not a good blade for my taste. My hair grows very fast when I use that blade. It's smooth, but I also feel some roughness. Not so efficient IMHO.

Lets feed some life into this thread!!

Yes, The King of safety razors in my shave den had been dormant for a bit. So, last night it was pulled from the top of the shave pedestal and brought into action. Aaahh, what a shave was had. Make no mistake, it's not intended for those that want nothing to do with blade exposure and feel. If your a mild mannered shaver, you need to look elsewhere because this is not your huckleberry. Having said that, if decent care and attention is given to the RX and you find that angle paired with your preffered blade, you can count the razors on one hand that match it for effectiveness and shave quality. And you would still have a couple fingers left over. Yes, the RX does not forgive and punishes carelessness or a lackadaisical approach to your shave. You don't need a Zen like approach but, solid technique and staying the course rewards a shave as fine as a straight.

I've paired the RX with every blade imaginable and all have performed tremendously well. Some better than others such as both the Feather Pro and Super (for me, that is). Guarded blades provide the safety net/cushion in it's aggressiveness in allowing one to get accustomed to the RX's personality and still getting a great shave.

Here with a Schick Proline. Awesome results. Love it so...

Murat announced that two new Rocnel Asylum will be produced, one for 50mm, and other for 40mm blades (I think injector blades).
Will be milder than previous versions.

Very much looking forward to this.  Every time I've used the Asylum, it was an EXTREMELY aggressive shave for me.  Nicks galore!
