A 22 mm Best Kadger knot and a Gillette Ball End Replica Handle (brass/no plating)

The handle is for a Canadian Reverse-Stud Goodwill razor head that came to me with a Soviet-era Czech-made aluminum "Soluna" handle (a flea market find).
Now the head just needs a bit of light sanding (#1000 grit) and buffing with a polishing compound. That's a rainy day project.

The handle compares quite favourably to a vintage one (from my LC New). The knurling looks coarser though, but that's fine by me.
They make the three parts with a threaded fitting instead of a press fit, and the centre part is hollow (I think) so they're not too heavy (28 g).

The knot is for a Rubberset handle that I bought at an antique shop. The boar knot was worn to just a fringe, with the glue bump visible in the middle.
I originally wanted a synthetic, but could find none that I like the appearance of in the right size, and I figured it looked best with a traditional knot anyway.
A test-fitting in the handle, jammed to the bottom for this photo:

Another rainy day project to select spacers and glue it in, but it fit snugly enough that I shaved with it tonight.

VERY nice John, I look forward to the sun coming out after the rain

That looks awesome, John. Great choice. Hope it performs as well as it looks.

Sampling Martin de Candre for the first time. Quick take off the "puck":

  1. Fougere. Lovely balanced scent with lightweight fresh green notes and maybe a whisper of leather in the background? I don't have a lot of experience in the Fougere category but this is easily my favorite of the three.
  2. Vetyver. Definitely pick up notes of earthiness and wood. I will need a bit more time with this one but I like it so far.
  3. Agrumes. I knew this one could be a risk as it seemed to be lemon forward (I am not a fan of lemon heavy scents). Sadly, as I had seen commented elsewhere, this comes across as Pledge dust spray. I am hoping this tones down when lathered up.
