Just Here for the Shaves

Between the two, I currently favor the Schick O for what I perceive is a satisfying effectiveness with high comfort. I look forward to reaching for the Schick O and the outcomes that can be achieved.

The N1 can also be effective but it requires a bit more effort which can lead to some mild feedback on the neck and jawline. When I have backed off on touch ups or pressure it still results in a solid shave but not as strong on BBS duration or coverage. For balance, the N1 is still a nice shaver overall with the Schick twin blade and some of the feedback may be a technique issue that will improve with more runtime. ( As a side note, I did get one shave in with the N1 and a conventional Schick injector blade. I needed to start with that blade to feed in the twin variant. I tried injecting the twin with no blade installed and it was seemingly impossible. )

I am working both razors up to a blade reuse count that matches up with my M1 and Schick twin blade. I then plan to conduct a more formal side by side comparison. But I am fairly certain the Schick O will lead on comfort and effectiveness. The Schick O also tied with the La Faulx for my most used razor in July. Needless to say, I am enjoying the O quite a bit.

Nice thoughts that were in line with mine as well. Enjoy !

Unfortunately I have fallen behind on this with a project that has consumed most of my time these last months. I have shaved several more times with each razor individually. Hoping to get back to some normalcy and improved reporting in the coming months. But just based off of interim usage, I still favor the type O. However, I have noticed the N1 coming in to its own, with a higher usage count twin blade (12 shaves with the same blade, so far). While the M can be an effective shaver, I would choose the N1 over it given efficiency and smoothness, assuming a twin injector blade. I continue to be impressed with the twin injector blade endurance overall, and not sure I would go back to a conventional injector blade, except for the occasional shave with one of my E types.

I gave the N1 a run with a new Twin blade over the weekend.  It resulted in a very smooth even shave.  I recall someone saying the shave with an N was "dolphin-smooth."  That is a good description as the fixed angle and shaving power results in a very smooth, even shave.  A few stray hairs were missed.  If this was my first razor when getting into this hobby, it might have also been my last.  Alas, I have many other fine options to reach for as well.

I am curious to see how the blade ages.  It is said to get even better.
