That Bald Guy with the Big Beard

If anyone is wondering, I have been using Crowne & Crane beard oil and balm for the last week(alternating days), and both are fantastic. Light in color, excellent scents, and the balm packs a TON of hold. Oil is very lightweight after application as well.

Just wanted to throw that out there...

does anyone make their own unscented beard oils? lately I've been using my barrister reserve alcohol splashes so I use an unscented beard oil, but I still get a little itchy here and there.

I think the recipe I'm using calls for grapeseed oil, jojoba oil and castor oil.

Andrew, if you plan on making your own beard oil, the oils in your list will do fine. If you're looking for a commercial unscented beard oil, we have plenty on hand. It's not currently listed as such on the website, but if you want some, we can fix that easily enough. The same is true for the beard balms.

I prefer scented. The natural scent from base oils/waxes is not pleasant to me.

It doesn't really matter if you use unscented or scented. If you find a scent that really works for you, go for it! If you have more sensitive skin and you plan on using a cologne, aftershave, or another fragrance I'd say go unscented. You never want to layer on too many different scents, it can get overpowering. No matter what, I'd always recommend using a beard oil to anyone with any kind of beard. It's easy to get itchy, dry skin when you have a beard, especially during the colder winter months. Beard oils bring moisture back to your face and make your beard look a lot fresher.

We found lighter oils work best. Scented or Unscented, we cover both since the desire for both is strong.

your beard/face doesn't get itchy from not putting an oil or balm on it?

Nope, and I have had beards and moustaches on and off since I got out of the Corps in 1969
