I hate to open a can of worms...but should we consider another vote where the adjustable is out of the running. It sounds like the cost will be prohibitive for many. A lower price point would be more inclusive.

Obviously this is group buy not to get better price but to break the wallet, but something tells me that this will be maybe 5-7 people group buy? if that's what you want to call group buy.... Well George you can count me out lol

The Titanium and the engraving are not adding to cost. This is the price quoted to me by Rocnel directly. As I said, I'm working on pricing with them to see what's allowed. Considering the regular full retail price of this razor is $375 without any special coatings etc, a group buy cost for DFS members with a special coating/engraving at $300 or less including free U.S. Shipping doesn't seem too bad. However, if this is still too high for everyone to commit to I am happy to remove the B&R from the options and focus more on a cost friendly Rocnel version. B&R was selected by DFS users, not myself.

If this is what everyone wishes, I can do that. But since other cheaper options were available for voting in the first place it makes me wonder if there would be any difference? Thoughts?

First, I truly appreciate all of your work to organize this.

It's a tough situation and impossible to make everyone happy. The poll gives percentages but does not indicate the number of people who voted. Do you have any idea of the absolute number of votes? Perhaps one approach would be to poll based on price point. ($100-$149, $150-$199, etc).

@"TheHandleBar" what do you think?

Hey Mark,
I thought everyone could see the results- there's a "show results" tab on the bottom right of the poll. Perhaps it's just for the OP though. My mistake!
The voting totals are as follows:

Open Comb SE got 2 votes
The DE-P got 6 votes
SE50 Slide Series got 3 votes
SE50N Magnetic got 1 vote
The B&R Razor got 12 votes
Titanium SE/P got 1 vote
Stainless SE/P got 0 votes.

As you can see, we are working with very small numbers for this group buy so I'm doing the best I can to negotiate a cheaper price; regardless of the razor choice.
I'm open to any and all suggestions. However, I don't feel that voting based on price point is something that will work well- just because it's cheaper doesn't necessarily translate into a razor that folks will want to jump on. Hope that makes sense.

I would be ready to buy the adjustable razor of this group buy I think, naturally depending on the final price. The other razors would not be interessant for me personally.

Polls are difficult to structure as many variables. FYI - the [Show Results] on the Poll shows the member DFS names voting - forum privacy issue?

The poll shows a $375 MRSP. Previous B&R selling prices were $260 UK vendor and $300 US vendor (both with stand). I have not idea of quantity purchased, but assume both vendors made a profit (one more than the other?). In the slow email negotiations, feel free to mention some cost accountant is asking about the price (or cost) increase.

Handlebar Supply also needs to make some money for the efforts and hopefully included in our price!!!!

Right I think we should just wait to find out the final price point first.

No updates yet, I sent my last email to Rocnel 6 days ago. I'll try again this afternoon if I don't hear anything.
