Razor seems interesting I went ahead and ordered one of the ones marked as 'aggressive' from Bullgoose. Anyone else grab one?

We can use this thread to speculate as we wait, post pics when we get them, maybe some who already have 2.1s can share their takes, etc.

Do you know if they fit any size blade?

looks like all the medium aggressives are sold out, still some aggro ones though.

Im actually kind of surprised, most of what I found online about the 1.95 was that it was pretty mild (maybe too much so), hence my decision to go for the more aggressive razor.

Looks like the handle and head have been redesigned (at least aesthetically). I’m on the fence as to wether I like the look this 2019 version better or not. Please report back on how it shaves.

Cool. I have a 1.90 from 2017. It's a great razor, but I find myself wishing it was just slightly more aggressive and that it took all blades. So, I did end up ordering one of the 1.95. My guess is that it will be just right.

Here are the impressions of BOTH the Aggressive (2.1) and Mid-Aggressive (1.95) razors I recently obtained. I sent this to a member on TSN on June 03:
Note: Results will vary, of course, when ONLY the Rocnel is used, but it will give members some Feedback, these are both the 2018 renditions, but are basically the same as the 2019 versions, as ALLWAYS: YMMV!

I have been following the Bullgoose thread regarding the upcoming release of 101 Rocnel Elite Razors and have read your replies/post.

I was able to get a Rocnel Elite 2.1 (#5 of 13-2018) about a month ago and have used it a few times.

I also bought a Rocnel Elite 1.95 (#5 of 38-2018) on May 24 from a young man in the US Navy, stationed in Japan. I got the 1.95 today.

I just did a shave with it and here are my impressions: I used a WR1 .61 OC for the first passes, then the Rocnel 1.95 for the remaining passes on the RIGHT side of my face, and the Rocnel 2.1 on the LEFT side.

Really great shave: Everything was smooth, especially the Rocnels. The 2.1 had a little more blade feel and feedback then the 1.95, but BOTH were very smooth (It helps to ride the side bar a little more with the Rocnel), and the result was a very good and close shave (one day growth) using a Feather DE blade. Maybe just a LITTLE closer shave with the 2.1, but not enough to really tell a difference.
It will be interesting to JUST use the Rocnels (Not the WR1 .61 OC) for ALL the passes.
To ME, IF I had to chose one, it would be the 2.1, but I like more aggressive razors. Still, since we are ALL different, the only way to know what is best for YOU, is to try one yourself. (I might let my wife use the 1.95 to see if she likes it to shave her legs, right now she uses a Feather AS-D2 with a Feather DE blade and has done so for several years).

I hope this helps you in your decision, JAY

More information regarding the Rocnel Elite Razors:
The designations 2.1 and 1.95 are confusing as they are actually the HEIGHT of the flat area that is at the TOP of the Base Plate (where the bottom of the Blade rests). Measured from the top of this area, to the area of the base plate that then extends to the safety bar. I measured this (2.1 and 1.95) with my accurate Dial caliper depth feature to confirm the measurement.
It is difficult to describe this measurement, as well as understand what it means. It is becoming more and more common to NOT use Blade GAP measurement to describe aggression/efficiency since those attributes are due to MANY more/different parameters.

Also, on TSN, Phil emailed Elite and DID get Gap measurements for those that REALLY want them:
Yes -M is Moderate and A is aggressive. The blade gaps taken by themselves do not really tell the story but for those interested, they are 0.35 and 0.52

I hope this helps more than it hinders!   ........ JAY

I had planned to order the aggressive version right when they went on sale a couple of hours ago, but couldn't convince myself to submit the order. I went back to the site about half an hour ago, and saw that the medium version was sold out. I couldn't help myself... I'm now a proud owner of the aggressive version.

They are really lovely razors. I enjoy my 2017 one. Always wanted one that would fit something other than feather blades though, so jumped at the 2019.

One thing I do find curious is the pictures never really do the Rocnel razors justice. They are super nice.

Also, I'm excited that the handle design has been updated as well.
