Rockwell Razors Business Model

Hahahaha! This is too much! My day has been made, lol.....

If the consumer has doubts that a product will be produced and delivered, they can always wait until the product is in circulation prior to buying one.

This will be me. I can't see how the rockwell could be any better than any of the other adjustables, modern or vintage, that I already have.

'Crowd funding' is a disaster waiting to happen as quite frankly most people investing in these are not financially savvy. Sure, America was founded on such a principle, BUT investors held a stake in the company and had a say. These modern day ones are basically a Ponzi scheme and as always there are fools throwing their money at them. Of course, they don't like to be called fools and many will whine to the Gov't after losing lots of money "Why didn't you save me from myself?!". Refuse to be a sucker and don't 'loan' money to strangers at 0% interest as they lack capital. 

Not familiar with Rockwell but I wouldn't prepay for a razor. It seems to me that taking a prepay for something that is supposed to be a production item means that they don't otherwise have the capital to produce it.

Agree but Rockwell had already proven to be a group that delivers the goodies even if something goes wrong at the end they will make it right, that's the reason I funded them.

I had a very good experience with the Mongoose model. They developed multiple prototypes and had them tested by a cadre of experienced shavers. They established a waiting list with no pre payments, raised the capital, and delivered a fantastic product on the first try.

Unfortunately my Kickstarter experience was very frustrating. The guys were awesome dealing with the situation, but it taught me a valuable lesson. I rather wait and pay a bit more for a proven product.

Ohhh Ye of little faith!!! I guess no one bothers to think young people should be supported these days? Especially when they actually display they have decent character? Instead let's support GE????

Is that our only choice? A Kickstarter or General Electric? I think somewhere in between.

The Rockwell boys just kicked off another Kickstarter to build an adjustable TTO razor. I checked it out but I guess like hrfdez I'm ye of little faith too. I'll hang on to my money and see what he comes up with. I don't need another razor right now anyway. No, really I don't.
