If you have hard water and find that shiny finishes can be a bit tacky, or grabby, to the skin, I feel the matte blasted finish of the 6S is a great answer to that struggle. I've found it to be the smoothest and best gliding of all my razors, and the finish is a significant reason why the 6S is such a fine shaver.
Thanks to Wolverine for this thread (and Teddyboy for his previous 6S thread) which pushed me towards the 6S.
I have had a solid month with the 6S using all the plates, switching them in between passes and getting to know the razor. I absolutely love it and can't see myself without one now. It shaves so well and I actually really like switching from a 4 to 2 between passes. There are no moving parts as seen in vintage Gillettes or the Progress to break and the three hole baseplates really lock in the blade as well as any razor. Switching plates takes seconds and I'm not questioning whether 4 on an adjustable is really a 4!
I actually prefer it now to the Wolfman and Timeless .68 by quite a margin. I didn't expect this but I can't imagine a closer shave DE or SE.
I'll sure pick up the 6C and can't wait for the TTO. These guys at Rockwell (and I'm comparing to the Wolfman and Timeless) I believe have the finest razor on the market today.
