REX Ambassador Update

That's a nice razor! I always wandered if that was a painted dot. So if it does come off i wonder what the correct color of enamel red ? I wonder if a man could put an enamel clear coat on?

What happened to the polished version of this Matt? I know you are selling these like cookies but some of us are just waiting for the polished version.....

I had to send my N date code in for repair and he just sent me a new one. The O date code has a uniform finish to it. My other one was darker gray on the head and lighter on the handle. The updated brushed finish looks really nice in person and really compliments the design of the razor. While I do like a nice polished finish, I think the brushed looks better on this particular razor. I’m not trying to tell you what to do. I’m just letting you know so you don’t let the finish keep you from getting one.

Same exact thing happened to me, and I'm very pleased with the "O". I actually prefer the brushed finish for this particular razor as well.

Yep,I've wondered if the Rex might slide a bit better polished up.

So I did have an N Rex, got it straight from Matt. I polished it and I did a decent job although I couldn’t polish it properly because the machine marks were too deep and if I wanted to proper polish the bottom of the base plate and the dial it would have deleted the engraving. I thought that a razor of this price tag should have a better finish. I’m glad the the O series are better but still they aren’t polished. The brushing just does a good job at masking deep machine marks.
I didn’t enjoy the way it shaves and I quickly sold it, but then I regretted selling and I thought maybe I should have given it more time. I am now willing to give it another go, but the finish has to be better!!!!!

Check on the bottom of the baseplate where the engraving is, round machine marks, quite deep

They’re not deep on this one. I would say it’s very similar to the finish on the original Above The Tie razors if that helps.

Any updates on the o version? Or even o2?
