The site had become inactive for an extensive period of time, and I assumed it had just drifted off into that Black Hole of Cyberspace. You could have knocked me over with a feather when  I just found it again. I see a few old friends, and my old pal Freddy.

I hope you gents don't mind having me, and perhaps we can learn a few things from each other.... I'm very happy to be back at a forum that I considered home!

Bill

I'm glad you found us again!

Welsome to the new forum, I'm also a newbie here

yes, DFS was created probably 5-6 years ago (maybe longer), went offline for about 3 years and then I bought it back from the guy we (myself and the previous owner) sold it to to revive it and start from scratch.

Hi Bill, and welcome back. I think you will find that the new Damn Fine Shave is even better than the old one.

Yes, it was active several years ago, but was then sold. The new owner revoked mod privileges from most of the mods, and then totally neglected the forum. Everyone left, and the forum eventually disappeared. I was as surprised as Bill to see DFS resurrected. It has become the best wetshaving forum around in a very short time.

just to clarify, that's not entirely true, at least from my understanding. the person who bought DFS from Matt a few years back ended up breaking his arm or leg (I forget exact specifics) and couldn't devote his time into rebuilding the site. this same individual also runs one of the largest forums in the world...just on a quick look, his forum is at 50M posts, getting almost 14k posts per day.

that aside, I'm glad you're enjoying the revamped DFS!

I stand corrected. I was wondering why the plans fell through. Regardless, things worked out really well in the end.
