Hi Marko

You took words out of my mouth said everything well about Lupo I’m actually impressed I haven’t seen one yet I’ll try to save up and buy one with .72 baseplate &  Barber pole handle.

I’m working currently on my Gamechanger and this is my first razorock razor from Italian Barber seeing baseplate & top cap my wife was is that Wolfman I replied Nope sure it does look similar to it and said to her don’t mix up James Dufor Wolfman lol. And my daughter at the moment said this is daddy’s WoofMan razor lol yes it is I replied till I get real Wolfman razor hopefully before Xmas.

Get back to the point Razorock Rocks Marko Happy2 this is a nice razor for price, quality, and Canadian Made  Happy2 Joe Pulled on This One Good.

Mind you I did assembled my Gamechanger thanks to folks on DFS supper knurl handle came from Tony AQU and baseplate .68 from somebody else I can’t remember at the moment but I’m very thankful to them.

Certainly I’ll enjoy it among with my #1 Karve SS which I adore.

Also to mention Barber pole Handle from Italian Barber the way I seen it and compare to timeless handle Barber pole I’m split on this one lol 50/50. But for some reason prefer Razorock Barber Pole Handle and being polished would stand out nice.

All Joe needs to get done to make a nice flat round razor stand similar to Wolfman with nice design around. That would be fantastic & serial numbered like razor plates.

I really like idea of serial numbered razors and engraving to me detail is everything like in watchmaking but comes down to cost.

Take care

So far ,I ‘ve discovered only one flaw
with my Lupo 95:
It makes my  .84 sb & oc Game Changers look and feel like being the poor relatives .

I have only kept the DC Lupo and have been trying different techniques with it. For me I have found that WTG followed by ATG with the OC side, then touch ups using the .95 SB side are giving me great results! BBS lasting 12-14 hours. I can use this technique as a daily driver without irritation.

I’ve been using Game Changer 0.84-P sb
as a daily shaver for quite a bit of time.
It was the ONE razor that almost forced me (!)
to sell all the rest of my razors (Muhle,Tatara,Karve,Fatip,Timeless just to name a few) and killed my RAD...well ,almost !
Later on acquired the OC version and lately the Lupo 95 has entered the den.
The GC 0.84-P OC is a very special razor (quite different from the sb version in quite a few aspects ) and thus will stay “out of the picture”of what follows.

Me thinks that the Lupo 95 is actually an evolved and “fixed”
Game Changer 0.84-P solid bar.
The machinist background allows me to acknowledge ,
just by visually comparing,
that both razors share the
same “platform”.Their basic
design is exactly the same .

[Image: 958-FFD08-2943-4392-849-C-369-BFA9-B608-D.jpg]

But the Lupo is actually a Game Changer with the “issues” fixed.
Let me explain.
The main differences are to be found in the baseplates of the razors.
Beyond the different blade gaps and blade exposures ,there are
quite a few more differences.
Let us start with the top side of the base plates .

[Image: 19-D6836-F-CEA7-4-CE1-9-A5-F-22955-DED2595.jpg]

#Guard/Bar length
The Lupo has a shorter (blade-edge length)guard vs the (full blade length)guard of the GC sb.
That (seemingly)small difference gives tons of manoeuvrability and shaving precision to Lupo vs the GC.

#Scalloped Bar#
Lupo has a scalloped bar vs the smooth bar of the GC .That also
small difference may be adding a bit more efficiency .

#5x bar bridges vs 3x#
A thin edged guard/bar stretches the skin more than a
thicker one.But a thin guard is prone to bending or even breaking if the razor is accidentally dropped.
The GC has a thin guard with
three bridges to the plate. The Lupo has five bridges for a shorter guard.Way sturdier design !

#Lather ports size vs blade clamp surface#
Lupo has smaller lather ports than the GC sb,
but has lot more blade clamp surface available vs the GC sb .
Still,Lupo is not clogging easily at all.Blade rigidity is of course higher at Lupo than the GC sb .

#Blade registration posts#
Lupo has the more common slot
design than the odd round “post s on baseplate” GC has.
Maybe the blade placement precision is higher this way and maybe is more comfortable to insert/remove the blade, but surely is not easier to keep clean and dry.

Let us now check the bottom side of the baseplates :

[Image: B95523-E4-8317-4594-B940-4-E0-D1-A39-A590.jpg]

#washer cut-out#
Lupo has a circular
cut -out for placing
a “standard” M5 nylon washer
( OD 10 mm ,ID 5 mm ,thickness 1 mm),whereas GC is
just flat.

#Smooth curves vs slot#
Well,much more aesthetically
pleasing the way the guards bend down and out from the plate smoothly ,than the slotted
bottom of the GC .

#Engraving#
Seems that RR moved from
stamping to milling .
Letters and numbers appear
more clean & smooth.
————————/////—————
Furthermore...
Machining marks are also
quite different at Lupo vs the GC.
The job done at Lupo is way finer.
Maybe better equipment (cutting tools /lubricants/spindles/etc ) was used into Lupo machining or the programming was even more finely tuned,or maybe both of the above.

For those that really like
and enjoy to shave with the
GC 0.84-P sb,but ‘ve always wished
if it could have more blade feel and more
efficiency, then Lupo 95 is a must-have razor. The rest of the GC 0.84-P fans can enjoy the equally gentle Lupo 72 !

•Has even higher (or is it “more” ?) blade rigidity ,
than the GC.
•Covers the blade side tabs as the GC .
•Has the same slim head profile, thus the
inherent agility.
•Has higher shaving precision due to
the scalloped blade-edge-length guard/bar.
•Although it has smaller lather ports ,
“clogging “ is something alien to Lupo.
•It ‘s more finely machined than the GC,
sporting almost zero tolerances.
•Accepts an M5 nylon washer.
•Has a sturdier bar than the GC.
•It’s more efficient shaver overall,
without sacrificing smoothness and safety.
•And finally , because in every dictionary ,
besides the “VFM” term ,there’s a photo showing the whole RR 2021 Lupo family!

I agree with Stephanos, the new Lupo is a RAD killer.  I think it shaves as well as the H&S series, Carbon and Wolfman at a price point that is essentially a "steal".  The smaller head, finally competes with the Carbon.  OK, the new Lupo does not have the "finish" of the top artisan offerings, but IMHO it is all about the "shave".  Is the finish and quality worth hundreds of dollars more? RR has outdone themselves with this new razor.  RR does not require you to purchase one complete razor as the others do.  You can buy the head you want and provide your favorite handle.  IMHO, the Razorock/Italian Barber business model is the winner.

If this comparison was with the Lupo 72, I’d be inclined to agree. However, I find the L95 to be a far more aggressive shaver than the GC84, which I don’t find to be aggressive at all. I get much more blade feel from the L95, to the point where it’s difficult to shave with on consecutive days. The GC4 is an easy daily shaver for me. I find the L72 to be far more comparable.

Yes ,you are right !
Forgot to mention that applies only
for those who like the GC 0.84-P ,
but still in the need bit more efficiency.

Myself I use the the Lupo 95 as a daily razor...
well not exactly .Lupo 95 has altered
my shaving routine, since the next day there’s
nothing to shave really.
So yes,I shave with the Lupo 95 every other day.No irritations so far ,just glass smooth face.
Of course ,I’m aware that the Lupo 95 can be
too much for some people using the GC-0.84-P sb as a daily driver.Have to agree that the
Lupo 72 is a much better option for them,
as you’ve correctly stated.

So ,for those that like and love the
GC 0.84-P ,but always wished for more blade feel and efficiency from it ,
then Lupo 95 is a must-have razor !

Reading all these positive comments, I wonder if I‘ve been using the same razor. In my opinion, the Lupo is a nice start into the world of blade feel, and a step up from the GC.

BUT, don‘t take your name off that Wolfman list just yet. Maybe I‘m doing something wrong with my Lupo 95, but it is certainly no match in efficiency when compared to my Karve E-OC, Wolfman WR1 0.80 or Yates H.

Having said that, at the price it‘s selling for, the Lupo is definitely worth a try.

finally used my lupo .95 for a shave about 30 minutes ago or so. loaded it up with a fresh wizamet SI blade. at the price, this razor can't be beat, IMHO. it looks great and is a smooth shaver on my skin...not too aggressive for me...decent audible blade feedback.

good work, razorock

Well,since you brought it up,either I was
doing something wrong with the Karve G plate
(had also D sb,E oc and F sb )
or indeed on my face and in hands the Lupo
is more efficient than the G plate of 1.36 mm gap and 0.25 mm exposure. The glass smooth BBS I take from Lupo 95,was never achieved with any of the Karve plates ,G included .
My guess is that the thick guard of Karve
razors has something to do with this .

Haven’t tried Wolfman  and
frankly don’t really care to do so.
Me thinks is way-way overpriced ,
even if I liked the razor.
As for Yates ,do not really like to shave
with these type of razors that clamp the blade
further back from it’s edges and rely on
bended blade’s tension for rigidity .
Paradigm,ATT,Blackbird,R41,
just to name a few more...
Nope, not good for my face .
All of these ‘Merkur-patent -based’ razors
give me lots of chattering when going ATG.
