I am only 8 months into SE shaving. I recently received both the Hawk V3 and the General V2. I used a Schick Proline in each for a week of daily shaving with each. I am finding that while both are very smooth for me, the General is a closer shave.

It's sharp and it cuts. I like it...

The Hawk V3 & Feather Pro Super. Sweet, sweet pairing. Good blade feel that is kept at a minimum yet maximum efficiency in shave results. A bit easier on the face than the Vector though I think the trade off still keeps the Vector ahead in overall performance by a nice margin and just a tad under the Brass General in overall feel. The Vector still leads the pack but, these two with a Super are right behind and the Hawk can bring it.

Still RR’s Hawk V3 is a very competent razor with the Super installed and keeps the nics, weepers and irritation to a lowly minimum. It’s a great entry level razor that gets even better with different blades to experiment with. And it loves Supers.

Great shaves to all…..

V3 Hawk way better than any of the General. The top cap of the General is too thick and does not give a good blade angle.

If it were the V1 SS or the Aluminum version of the General I would agree with the top cap being thicker but as far as the shave angle is concerned, the V2 SS General is what made IB change their top cap design on the SS Hawk which made the shave angle almost identical to the General...

I have both the General V2 head and the Hawk v3 head, and I don't notice anything when I once shaved with both. Other than holding both in the same hand at the same time can be challenging  Big Grin
