This is the alu version however It can be used on pretty much any SE. I've tried to fit it on the General, RR Hawk, Asylum, ATT SE and Mongoose, all alu and SS editions. No issues securing the shim and upping the blade gap. It actually made the Mongoose aluminum useable again as it's too mild for me without the shim.

In hindsight I would say that even with the shim the Mongoose alu is still nowhere near delivering a close shave. Extremely smooth yes but still super mild, even shimmed. The RR Hawk benefits the most with the shim and truly makes this SE razor stand out in my arsenal. After my WTG, XTG and ATG shave this morning with the Mongoose alu, shimmed with a Schick P-30 I was nowhere near to being BBS. Tried buffing but nothing improved. Switched the shim and blade to the RR Hawk, did an additional pass and a few buffs and I was BBS like glass. Really put an amazing smile on my face as I was totally amazed by its performance. I don't even have a coarse beard at all. On the contrary, a very sensitive normal beard growth. Doesn't necessarily going to work for you but it sure does work for me.

This transformed a decent razor to an excellent one.
Thanks Max for the "game changer"
I'm glad it worked out as expected. Since the V1 and V2 share the same shave geometry it should give the same result on both. Great to know you tested with a V1.
