As a recent new wet shaver I've been using and enjoying my EJ89 razor. However I notice that the blade sticks out at both ends slightly. Once in a while the end of the blade will catch my nose for example. So my question is are all razor heads the same length and do razor blades stick out at the ends of all safety razors?
Thanks for your comments.

If you mean at the wide non-sharpened ends of the blade, then many razors will have the blade ends protruding.  However, there are exceptions.  My iKon OSS razor head covers the ends of the blade completely, as does my iKon Shavecraft 101.  There may be others out there, as well, and perhaps some other members can chime in about those.

Here, you can clearly see the difference between my iKon Shavecraft 101 (left in both photos) and my Merkur 37G Slant.  The blade edges protrude on the Merkur; they do not on the iKon.

Feather covers the blade tabs too, the only razor I have that does.

I never understood how you can cut your nose with the blade tabs, it is a very odd angle and area to cut. I'm guessing as your technique improves, you'll never do it again.

All evidence has been buried, all tapes have been erased.

The RazoRock Black Mamba as well. I do agree with @Bruce that it also likely has to do with technique as I don't notice (and consequently can't tell you which of my razors don't protrude). Only reason I remember the BM is that I am using it this week.

Good luck!

Bruce and Kevin, while I agree with you that technique plays a big part, I wear a very small stud in my left ear lobe and, while it rarely happens, that blade tab has caught on that earring.  I have to remember how I lift the razor as I am shaving.  That's definitely technique but it never happens with the iKons I have, which cover the blade tabs.

Thanks for all your comments (and so quickly too!) and especially the photos. Very helpful. I do mean the non-sharpened tabs. I also agree that improved technique would solve the problem or maybe I just need to be more careful.

All razors are loaded with the same blade:

Bruce, I also shaved with an iKon B1 slant over the weekend and this week- it completely covers the blade tabs as well. I will make note as I use other razors of which do and don't.

Freddy, good point as well on snagging things.

I thought I was the only one that had the blade tabs in the earring issue lol
