Question for those who regularly use Feather AS/D2, Vintage Tech, Superspeed etc.

Adopting the diagonal slide was key in getting me from a 3-pass to a 2-pass BBS routine , especially on the chin.

I have what I’d consider an average beard and mild razors work just fine for me on a three pass but I have to pay attention to blade angle. My aggressive razors certainly have an edge for angle errors but they have more of a tendency to bite. I prefer a milder razor and a smoking sharp blade. My grandkids bellies show no redness when they get a zerbert!

Oh, and I thin out my lather. Slickness I love. Cushion with a mild razor seems counterproductive.

To the OP: the best razor to learn correct angle IMO is the legendary Schick Krona which has chamfered silo doors that are foolproof. It never disappoints.

I would say #4, but one razor that I can barely get a DFS with is the blue tip. I just can't figure that one out along with the R41 on the other end of the spectrum. I just can't get a smooth shave out of it no matter what angle I try. I have zero problems with the any other razors. I totally agree with BPman about the Krona though. That is a DE that is widely available, cheap, and not talked about enough.

So those of you who use very Mild razors regularly, how would you describe your scenario?

To be honest, I wonder the same thing about people using mild blades like the Astra SP. But I assume it works for them. I can shave with them too; it just isn’t as confortable as shaving with a sharper blade.
