I have both. A Dirtybird 1.5 Scuttle (retired) and a Moss Scuttle. The Dirtybird was retired when the Maker passed (RIP). Both make a fine bowl of thick, luxurious foam. Agreed, they are both expensive, but I like them.

I also have several different Dirtybird scuttles and shave bowls. I saw on the DirtyBird website that they were permanently closed but had no idea that Julie had passed away. Thanks for letting me know!

I initially 3d printed a scuttle in PLA,  but I was afraid it wouldn't take the heat.  I splurged and bought a Naked Armor Silver Fox Stainless Steel Scuttle.  It works well.  It is a little smaller than the West Coast unbreakable shaving bowl I was using before, but I am getting used to it. I experimented and used a portable induction cooktop I already had to heat up the water/scuttle.  It worked, but I am not sure it is necessary.  My tap water most of the time is just hot enough.
