Anyone know of any shops that will pull and reset a knot? I had Grizzly Bay set a Silk Smoke knot for one of his brushes and I agreed to a terrible loft. Need it pulled and set much higher. He didn't want to deal with the pull and set.

Can he be trusted on true collector knots to preserve both knot and handle?

Nope. Good point. Not sure I have found anyone to work that. Usually one gets damaged.

I might be wrong, but I am afraid it is a “ mission impossible” to pull the knot without damaging the knot and the handle if the knot set with epoxy

Could not one grind away an unwanted handle thus preserving the knot

JR Reyes. Reyes restoration. IG handle I believe. He has saved both knot and handles before, from what I’ve heard.

I don’t know Vlad but his rep precedes him.  Reyes Restores does great work.  In this instance, the handle is more valuable than the knot as the knot can be easily replaced and is a job anyone can do with care and a dremel and a YouTube search.  And I’m with the OP on stumpy lofts. What’s the point of a brush that won’t splay?
