Trumper's Skin Food in all their iterations. Fantastic pre-shave, makes every soap and cream better by making them slicker.

I wash face and head with generic brand Noxzema in shower. If I feel like using an additional preshave I rub on a glycerine soap like Pears and lather over that. The glycerine pre shave is more of a cold weather thing. I have not used it since the weather turned warm.

I have three pre shaves that I rotate with. A&E slick stick (which I used today), Grooming Department unscented and the Cube non-mentholated.

I just can't see myself using the popular giant cube of pre-shave so I went for the next best thing their Tube. I have used it twice so far and it seems to work just fine. I like that it only takes a very small amount followed by some hand agitation.

I use either Cremo Shave Cream or Honey Glycerine bar soap as a pre-shave, prior to face lathering. Both create a very slick base for any type of soap or cream that I use regularly. I find they both combine better with the soaps and creams, than an oily pre-shave product.

Noon question, but what is “GD” preshave?

Grooming department shaving soap but it's their pre-shave.
If you're interested in trying some pre-shapes out it's a nice slick one and helps to leave your face soft as post-shaped bonus. That's my thoughts on it.

Thanks keto . I was wondering why people were cursing about their "GD preshave!" /s

I haven't extended my exploration in to preshaves yet, so I will definitely put this one on the short list of next orders.

Grüüm klår Brightening Facial Cleanser.

Seriously, this changed my shaves from being tuggy to the hair just disappearing without fuss.

Before shave I splash my face with warm water, lather this bar between my hands, wash face with the lather and rinse off.

Removes all the oils from the surface of the hair which makes a huge difference to my shaves.

I think this is definitely a YMMV thing when it comes to pre-shave items. I have tried a free pre-shave soap sample from Stirling Soap Company, Trumper's Skin Food and PAA Cube 2.0 and for me the Cube was the only one that I noticed an improvement for my shave. For some (but not all) of my soaps, it tended to make the lather better and slicker. I followed a video of washing my face with the Cube, then re-applying the Cube before lathering with the shave soap. I usually shave after taking a shower. I tend to use Trumper's Skin Food as a post shave instead of a pre-shave since I like the scent (sandalwood).
