Mine is a Ti95DC OC/SB and would be the exception if being suggested as I find using the OC on 1st pass and SB for the 2nd is why I've lost all desire to try any other razors that have become available since getting it.
That being said I do read all the threads here and on B&B about all the razors mentioned and think from what he listed as options, I would also suggest the H&S HO75 as I think that would be more inline with what he's been using and again, from what I've read will up his efficiency from his current options. As for the other H&S suggestions I don't think any would fit his needs as they would all be too aggressive for him and basically a waste of funds!!
I am kinda baffled over the whole PO76 series H&S offers as from all the reviews each material seems to get quite a few different reviews according to the pass around threads. I personally think from what I've read is he changed a dimension without disclosing the info on the 17-4 razor because it just seemed the reviews on it were the most critical and I just don't buy it that the material is the reason. The reason I think this is because when the Titanium was introduced it received very favorable reviews and very much on par with the SS version and henceforth the Copper as well over the 17-4... The dislike for the 17-4 just seemed overwhelming compared to the others and I think that is just strange in most blamed it on the material.
I've not tried any of Avi's line because of 2 reasons being I am VERY happy with my Ti95DC and just can't believe the shave could give any better results than I have been getting over the past couple years and then there are the looks of the H&S line!! In "MY OPINION" they are the ugliest razors offered today other than the Oneblade maybe and it probably starts with the handles more than the razor heads themselves. The handle on the Blackbird is what kept me from buying one of those and I know you can always change the handle out but to me that is being disrespectful to the Mfg'r in doing that. They make a product to be used as it is released imo... The handle on the H&S line is imo, even uglier than the original Carbon offering that really had a very mixed reaction when launched and kept quite a few from purchasing so I feel my reasoning of the H&S is warranted. Another reason is I don't care for polished at all and it seems that is all Avi cares to make beyond the PO75 offering.
With that being said I will finish this off with a very wise quote from LOOT , "lest the flame consume"!!
Great post and agree on many counts SAVE the 17-4, design and finish. Of course, nothing can, nor rightly should sway your tastes. Diversity of personal preference (and reasoned opinion) makes the world colourful and advances mankind.
Aji’s high polishing of metals even Wolfman won’t undertake is part of the high end appeal of the aspirational P series. Can state as fact he sometimes spends an entire day on a single razor. Much like a Ferrari, it not for everybody even if possessing the requisite disposable income.
The 17-4 material is uniquely clinical (to be kind). Some actually prefer it. Irrespective, the metal used making such a decisive delta to perception is a very real and empirically defencable proposition.
Confident I can demonstrate the phenomena.
Finally, it is Aji; Avi was another person involved with a different highly regarded razor endeavour that, for reasons unrelated to the actual product, ended less than sanguine.
