I don't know if I will ever want to take on the required matinence a straight requires, so a shavette seems logical.  Opine please!

Just saw this on youtube. This guy has impeccable technique with a straight and a shavette, which he uses to get BBS here.

Geo Fatboy does a great video on Shave Nation. He uses a Parker SR-1 Shavette to take off 4-5 day's worth of growth. I just bought a Grim Dollar Revolver Shavette for 19 bucks shipped. It look's just like the Dovo Shavette and comes with the insert for the long blade preloaded, plus a 10 pack of blades is also included.

I have one of these and found it to be quite stout especially compared to my very cheap stamped metal shavette. In the end with my medium to small hands I prefer something a little more nimble, the price is right for the Crown King shavette and it looks great on my shelf. When it taunts me I pull it down, respect it and take it slow and enjoy the shave! I think it's cool that it CAN take a full size DE blade. There is some room to move the blade up and down on the pegs. I recommend the smallest blade exposure as I see no benefit to a more exposed blade, but introduces the possibility for flex. I can't really comment on that with any authority though as I've always set mine to min exposure. Even at min exposure there is plenty of blade out there for a very close shave. I came from a straight razor background and I've really enjoyed my shavettes. They all seem to be very good at getting a close shave and handle much like a straight without the the tugging that can come from a dull straight. I know there are people who feel they are a different experience, but not for me.

Just picked up a Weck Hair Shaper with removable guard. It uses the Personna Spined Shaper blades. It'll be interesting to see how it shaves compared to my grim Revolver with the green insert and Same spined blade. The Weck has alot of blade exposure with the guard off. It's more like a true straight razor.
