It's sharp and it cuts. I like it...

Another good shave yesterday evening. The Gillette Platinum still has a shave or two in it left but, the Flexi has shown good shave geometry in its overall design with incremental blade feel when one is searching for the sweet spot.

Very well done for the money....

Just Here for the Shaves
Williamsburg, KY
Sunday July 25, 2021
Razor: Pearl Flexi at 3.5
Blade: Wizamet (3)
Brush: Rubberset 400 Cashmere
Soap: Hub City RCITW
AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
AS 2: CHH Tobacco
Fragrance: Amouage Sunshine Man
Consecutive Daily Shaves - # 991

Built like a Tank the Flexi gave a superb shave. It's machined brass with a triple layer matte finish that is attractive and easy to clean. It has the heft of the brass too but while a heavy razor it was easy to use and maneuver. Nice razor but the Gibbs would have it beat for me. Again no rash decisions but it'll be on a short list if I reduce razors down the road. I do want to try some different blades in it too. used a blade from the Winner razor that puts a good bend in the blade and I want to see if a fresh one would perform differently. Amouage Sunshine Man to top everything off before services today......Need I say more. Amouage is always a "Go Big or Go Home" scent strength juice producer and this is no exception. Have a great day Guys !

Is it normal for there to be a rattle inside the razor when everything is tightened up? I just used my brand new V4 today for the first time, and something was rattling inside.

Yes. It sounds like a rattlesnake, doesn't it?

It's a bit disconcerting, but not that much. I'm an AZ native, so I know what a rattler sounds like. It does bother me a bit. I'm not sure yet if I'd notice on just my face, but it's noise when shaving the dome.

Here's my info on the Flexi. There have been quality issues with it. You may get a good one and you may not. I also like Shavemds thinking here. Pearle, who makes the flexi, is probably India's largest razor manufacturer. Ripping off a design from an artisan, then making a copy with quality issues, doesn't feel quite right. Heck, Ambassador's on the used market aren't that much more than the Flexi. and, the Razor Emporium stands behind the Rex.

I can speak from experience now. The Ambassador has nothing to worry about from the Flexi. It's not a poor man's Ambassador. It doesn't shave the same at all in my opinion.

Last I checked the Ambassador was a ripoff of another razor too and is also "not" without its flaws and CS problems!! There are still a few people out there that sent razors in to RE only to have them sent back in the exact same condition as what was sent in and then RE stopped communicating with those people...

I can only speak from my experience with the Flexi. My first shave was a little rough but every shave since has been smooth and blood-free. Never had any alignment or quality control issues.

Using setting #5 WTG & XTG and setting #2 ATG provides a smooth comfortable 3 pass DFS+/BBS shave.

Packaging is excellent they even include a stand. This is a V6 so the issues with previous versions must have been addressed.

I have been a Pearl Flexi thread lurker for months having first tried the cheap Qshave adjustable. (Q was mechanically quirky and provided inconsistent shaves.)

Finally, Murphy & McNeil (USA) popped a restock of Version 10 and I ordered.

Thanks to those contributors on this and other threads for helping with my razor RAD!
