Pain is there to remind us that we're still alive.

My Drs ask me in greeting, how are you today? I pretty much always answer, "Not bad for a 95 year old man.". I told that to my dentist the other day and he commented, "Gee, you've aged alot in the last 6 months.". To which I replied, "Yeah, the problem is that I'm not 95.". Then he got it.

We have a friend whose mom claims that, "Growing old isn't for wimps.". I agree with her.

The issue is one of timing.  Being frugal, the thought of reaching the end of the line with un-utilized capacity still on the body just doesn't sit well but we don't know how long we have and rather than risk checking out with gas still in the tank we just use it up as fast as we can and hope for the best.  There's always something in reserve as long as you've got the stomach for it  Big Grin  At this point I'm beginning to feel like the Black Knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail!
