Had my first go round with the new Parker Premium Platinum (PPP?) Blades and WOW.
Parker doesn't usually get a lot of love, probably because their branding isn't particularly 'sexy', but I've been nothing but pleased with the quality to price they offer. I had been chatting with Howie, the US distributor of Parker products, and he was really excited about the new blade and urged me to try some. Really happy I did. They are SUPER smooth for my skin/beard type- which I consider to be on the sensitive and coarse side. The next test is a full head shave with one, but so far, I think this blade is a winner. I will also be posting this in my vendor section, Mods if you have an issue with this please edit how you see fit.

I agree with your assessment, Gareth!

OK, I bought 100 of these blades with a coupon just to try them out at a discount price.(I really didn't need any more blades.)  But, I've been really impressed with the Parker Premium Platinum blades.  Blades are always going to be a very personal, YMMV thing.  I get that.  That said, my experience with these blades sounds very similar to what Gareth posted.  I found the blades very smooth and reasonably sharp with my skin/beard.  I haven't gone through a whole tuck yet, but the 3 blades I've used seem to be very consistent in how they perform.

I just thought of something else I like about the Parker Premium Platinum DE blades. They do have 4 very small glue/wax dots on one side of the blade, but the dots disappear for me after one shave and don't appear to gum up the base plate of my razor! The dots are not very thick, either. The dots are not a huge issue for me, more of a minor annoyance, but I know it is a bigger deal for some other folks.

Did a head shave last night with a Parker Platinum in a RazoRock Baby Smooth. It worked great!

I have them for sale at my site www.TheHandleBarSupply.com but you can also buy them directly from Parker at www.SuperSafetyRazors.com, I'm sure they're on amazon as well.

I have heard from a couple of people that these blades are repackaged Derby Premium. These Derby blades are a favorite of mine.

I suppose that's possible. They are made in Turkey but are made from Swedish Steel.

Packaging is exactly the same too other than the Parker insert. I'd say that's a pretty good bet!
