Why is that Andy? Have another post trying to get an answer. Other manufacturers state the same but haven't offered an explanation. Is it strictly a feel imparted that while present has no scientific explanation?
No, it's for real. Check the other thread. Question of reduced mass.
Shaving with the Ti2 is unlike any other razor I have ever used. I love the blade feel of aggressive razors but have also come to really enjoy the extremely smooth and close shaves I get from the 17-4.
With that being said, the only way I can describe the smoothness of the Ti2 is for you lather up and then run the smooth side of a butter knife across your face. It is the smoothest feeling razor I have ever used and is extremely efficient as well.

Very smooth and efficient--probably even more so than the 17-4. I am very glad I did not trade this. Thanks to those of you who talked a little sense into me.
Paradigm Shaveware congratulations on another fantastic creation. I can't wait to see what you come up with next.
Glad to hear you think it was worth holding on to. I actually wasn’t going to keep mine. I purchased it for another fellow who invited me to use it before I passed it on. After a couple shaves I didn’t want to pass it on lol. Luckily the gentlemen I got it for said to keep it and he would get one from Andy later on.
I'm glad to hear it, too. I saw where you were looking to trade, and I have to admit, I was a little bummed.
My sincerest apology. Excellent razor and I am very glad things worked out the way they did!

If you were to put it on a numerical scale, how would the two rank? The reason I ask is I find the 17-4 a little aggressive for my face. I'm wondering if the titanium 2 version might be a little better for me. Do you think the difference is great enough to bother with a switch?
I am one shave in...so take that into consideration. But, my feeling is that the Ti II is smoother than the 17-4 and just as efficient. Others may feel differently.
Sorry, but by smoother, are you saying it's less aggressive? My problem is that I have to be very careful to use no pressure with my 17-4. I can do that and usually get no nicks, but my face feels a bit beat up. Almost as if it was sunburned. That's why I'm hoping for something with just a little less aggression. Is it the ti2 that I'm looking for?
As Andrew said, it has a softer/milder feel but is just as effective as the 17-4. My guess is you would you would experience less razor burn with the Ti II compared to the 17-4.

Have extraordinarily sensitive skin here; do you have a post shave routine? Here's mine:
Alum rub and leave on 1 min cold rinse after
Spritz Witch Hazel
AS Splash
AS Balm
Of balms:
ABC
Proraso White or Blue
GFT Skin Food
Institut Karite
Best in that order but ABC crazy expensive and worth every penny
Also try using a preshave, Proraso works well but Noxema Cold Crème less expensive
