I was just having a conversation with someone a few hours ago, about how it's a shame that the paradigm line is so 'unobtanium' and not out there for more to experience.

Great to hear this!

I don’t understand comments like this. It took several months before the now “unobtanium” Diamondback 2020 sold out. During that time, you literally could have ordered it for MSRP and had it delivered in a few days time. For some reason, people don’t decide they want something until it gets hyped up and can’t be easily obtained. Why didn’t you order the DB earlier this year when it was in stock and readily available?

Well, that’s how it works, through hype and word of mouth, that’s how things sell in the wet shaving world and when something gets hyped people want to try it. Usually the seller manufactures more razors to sell and make money though. I wanted one too but I had just bought a Wolfman and didn’t feel like buying another razor and I figured he would make more eventually, obviously that wasn’t the case, maybe in future. I want one too but I’m not paying a 30 percent markup on BST I rather pay that 30% to the maker.

I was more referring to the SE and the DB wasn't one that I was on the hunt for. Not to mention, my response follows on from what the man himself has stated.
To be fair, I only became aware of Paradigm razors, shortly after the SE was sold out. I did manage
to get one after the fact though.

Many people don't order products on launch because they want to do the prudent thing and wait for a consensus on reviews. By the time enough reviews are out to make an informed decision...they sold out. Not everyone is willing to gamble with their money on an unknown.

Hi,

New here.

Just found out in this thread that there is a razor called Javelin on the way (although postponed atm). I thought Javelin was just the prototype for the DB? Also, what kind of blades (SE or DE) is Javelin supposed to take?

I did like that. I read initial reviews, then I ordered DB. Couple of weeks later, some of my friends ordered, too. The razor was in stock for a long time.
It also had 30 days return warranty, there was no gambling.

AFAIK, the Javelin was originally the DB prototype but then Andy said he’d be releasing a Ti razor that would be more aggressive than the DB and also called the Javelin. It’s been pushed back with this latest collaboration. It’s a DE.
