You don't need to load the brush long at all.  5 seconds is long enough for me and made enough lather for me for 5 passes if I wanted it.

I even read this before I used it and thought, "Five seconds? No way I'l do ten." WAY too much soap.

This is a Soap/Splash that I’d like to try. I prefer Tallow based Soaps to date, but this one has been getting really good reviews and favorable comparisons to some of my favorite Soaps. Several members of the community whose opinions I respect have had very good things to say about this Soap as well. I’ve been wanting to try PAA for a while now, and it looks like this might be a good time for me to give it a try.

PAA is fantastic soap. All of Doug's soaps lather super easy and are extremely slick but the CK-6 base is so good you would think it was tallow. PAA and Wholly Kaw are probably my two favorite go-to companies with Oleo Soapworks thrown in among them.

CK6 is the real deal. Excellent post shave feel.

One of the best I've tried.

A few seconds loading a brush is really all you need with CK-6. PAA knocked it out of the park with this soap base.

Very good base in my opinion. I will be buying more.

I've been using the Ck6 base for the last few days - post shave is the best of any soap I've tried. Extremely easy to lather (as the PAA soaps always are) and slickness is excellent as well. I'm not sure how different the Ck6 base is from the previous CK base (for example on the Boomtown Bay Rum). The labels only differ in the last few ingredients (Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Theobroma Grandiflorum (Capuacu) Butter, Astrocaryum (Murumuru) Seed Butter, Platonia Insignis (Bacuri) Seed Butter). That boomtown base has been my top performing soap ever.

Not to derail the thread in any way, but how does the post-shave compare to Mystic Water soap, out of curiosity?

Nope. But post shave was pretty good with CK-6. It never feels moisturized to the level of mystic water but stays 'not-so-dry' for a long time after the shave (without any AS).

With some soaps, my face felt moisturized after the shave but the dry feeling kicks in with time. Not so much with CK-6 - it stays neutral for a good amount of time.

(on a separate note, I didn't feel residual slickness was enough to allow some buffing, and lather didn't feel dense like some other soaps I enjoy. But YMMV and all that)
