Life time guarantees means nothing. Years ago I had an inground pool installed with a life time foundation guarantee. Several years later the company went out of business. Fortunately for me the pool survived many years of use. If this razor sold for $99 I still wouldn't buy it simple because is uses only one blade made by Feather and that blade doesn't last too long.

That's not true. It uses despined Gems and people here get many, many shaves from the Gems. Just read the main oneblade thread. Lots of discussion on the Gems.
As to life time guarantees, lots of companies have life time guarantees.
Take ANYTHING back to a LL Bean store. Anything no matter how old and used, whether you got your money out of it or not, and they will give you a new one. Period.
Craftsman tools, lifetime guarantee, etc. of course they have to stay in business. Who would expect a lifetime guarantee from a company not in business? That makes no sense.
The "the blades are too expensive" and "they only take one blade" line are getting very old, tired, and just wrong. The blades are now ~47 cents from Gift and Care this weekend. They are easily available in at least two US online stores other than oneblade. There is no monopoly. And the Gems are dirt cheap. They about give them away.

Taking a Gem blade apart just to say there is another option to the Feather blade for a $399 razor doesn't make sense. I tried as an experiment removing the guard from a Gem blade and although I didn't cut myself this is still very dangerous. And lets not compare One Blade with LL Bean or Sear's Craftsman tools (which most if not all are made in China not the USA) and have become junk. Just saying

Desplining a Gem takes about 10 seconds. There are youtube videos and descriptions here on how to do it. You never touch it with your hands, just use a needle nose plier. In fact the cardboard never comes off the blade. I don't care for them. The feathers are plentiful now and work fine. They cost pennies compared to the amount of money here pay on soap. I'm not sure what you are saying. LL Bean is junk? And what does it matter if Craftsmen is not made in the US? Most cars and components for cars are not made in the US. SO what? The US makes very little. It has become a country of providing services, not production. Even if, as you claim, Craftsmen is junk, they still carry a lifetime warranty. Break it and its free. Free is free. Free is good. I dont get all this company bashing. Dont like it? Don't buy it.
I found this amazon review amusing. The other 13 fakespot considered suspicious.
As much as OneBlade struggled with some customer relations issues, and did some things I would have handled differently, I can't fault the shave. I've now given two of these to virtual newbies to wet shaving who were struggling with standard beginner mild DE razors, and they report close irritation-free shaves.
This summer, I actually TRIED to get an irritating shave with it, and did everything wrong: Too much pressure, bad angle, going back over an already shaved area with no reapplication of lather, etc.
I won't say there was NO irritation, but very, very little. If I had done this with a Muhle or a .95 Timeless and a Feather DE, my face would have been in very bad shape and the color of a ripe tomato.
They've practically idiot proofed the wet shave, which is an accomplishment in itself. Like many here, I enjoy the challenge of different razors, approaches, angles, techniques, all of that. But I must admit, when I take the OB out once a week or so, I'm always impressed.
I've got a bunch of the Feather DHS, and I've only tried a despined GEM for a couple of shaves. I prefer the Feathers, but with so much praise for the GEMS, especially from SharpSpine I'm going to have to revisit that blade.

I had experienced razor burn for the first time in 40 years.
After the OneBlade shave, my face felt like sandpaper.
One blade responded with a phone number and Amazon provides a different email address.
Don't know what this reviewer was doing but its the exact opposite of my experience albeit I can get razor burn if pushing hard. Since the review says he uses a cartridge, I expect he used pressure.
And blades? Gift and Care is selling for ~47 cents each for Black Friday with discounts.
having used the razor a few times - even with the issues I had - I'd find it hard to believe it was as bad as stated in that review and I have pretty challenging facial hair and sensitive skin.

It looks like a OneBlade representative posted this response to the one star review by a customer by the name of Mike A. I think I’ll post it on the longer OneBlade thread, as well, just for historic and documentation purposes.
