I thought I'd be clever and made a canvas strop to fit an Auto Strop and thought I'd be able to strop the FHS10 blade to extend the life. I'm not sure why, but that killed the blade. I had to toss the blade right away the next morning because it pulled so much. I did read where someone said they flip the blade every day, so I've done that this week and shave 3 this morning was still really comfortable--I'm hoping the blade will last a week doing this.I hunted a while to find an Auto Strop set that came with the leather strop thinking of doing the same with the FHS10 blade for the Core. Unfortunately the results were the same as yours. I know that the stainless steel blades do not take to stropping well, but was not willing to buy a pack of FAS10 just to see if the results were better. The odd thing was that when I loaded the same wrecked blade in the Auto Strop, I have been getting great shaves from it, even after stropping them once a week.
Blade flipping is something that I do with my notched Gem blades in my OB razors, and it does help with the shaves. I am supposing it will also work with the FHS10 blades.
The FAS-10 blades I don't think are as good as the FHS-10 blades, they also didn't last as long as the FHS-10 blades when I tried them in an Autostrop. I can also say stropping the carbon steel blades, Feather or Gem doesn't improve the lifespan of the blade.
