Scentsless Shaver
Oakland, ME
Second shave in the books this morning. I kept the razor on 3.5 for the first two passes and dropped to 3 for the ATG pass. How was it?

I am really excited about this razor. I am liking how it feels (mild and efficient at setting 3ish) compared to my favorites of a Fatboy and a Slim.

First shave completed - my mailman delivered it today (Sunday).

I can only say that at setting 3 it is very easy to achieve a smooth, BBS in 2.5 passes.  There is only one piece of advice I would give Jorge, the dot as most have said, is very hard to see.

It shaves smooth, much closer to an OG than any razor I have used.  I am quite sure I will order one but I will get the knobs colored.

I will play with the settings over the next week but really what a deal at 150 dollars. Late in the week I’ll post a real review, I just wanted to say wow… this is one great adjustable that punches way above its weight.

This morning's shave

Oliblade set to 3
Personna Comfort Coated (3)
Ethos unscented cream
Trotter Quasar handle with AP 24mm UHD Independent knot
CaYuen Dark Nebula bowl

Yesterday I had lots of micro knicks after the ATG (razor set at 3.5). Alum stick and a cold-water splash solved the issue but had me debating using an Overlander this morning. When the time came, I girded my loins and got back up in the saddle (how's that for mixing metaphors or whatever?!!). I set the razor to 3 and was determined to only use the straight edge for the shave.

This razor shaved so mildly at 3 (and even a tad above as the knob turned when I was pressing on the collar and I forgot the setting doesn't "lock in") that I found myself using both sides, even as I was trying to stay with the straight side! Guess I need to check myself more, ha ha! But my point is that I can detect a bit more blade when on the scalloped side, which is what made me look to see what side I just use. But not enough blade to make me stop and say Whoa, Nellie!

I used a Wizamet Super Iridium for tonight's head and face shave. I prefer the Personna lab blues that I used for my previous shaves, but this was still a very nice one.

Hello Clouds
A little off subject but you’d know better than probably anyone like Dave in KY mentioned how does this compare to an Original Gibbs which you know I’m a big fan of and so far any Gibbs inspired razor has not bested the original for me.

Just curious but this razor is getting some good reviews so I’m curious.

All the best

After 3 shaves with the Oliworks generously loaned to me by cigarman and I have an opinion.

This the best adjustable made in North America that I have used and I believe I’ve tried anything made in the past 10 years.

I’ve used it on 6+ for the WTG pass, efficient and smooth.

4 for the XTG pass, it mows it down.

3 for the ATG pass, just a tad of blade feel but still efficient.

The results 8 hour BBS with 2.5 passes.

I never had an adjustable that I would say shaves this well across the range from 1-6.  I have used the razor at 1 and 2 and it is a mild but effective shave on 1-2 days of growth.

Now for the razor.   No alignment issues, finish is really good as machined or lightly tumbled and just a pleasure to shave with.

My only drawback the dot.  I sometimes crank it all the way open to 6 to find it and adjust it.  It’s there but hard to see clearly.

Other than that - this razor should not be missed in its current price range.  It is keeper!

Like you honest observations as I am think of drive to Mesa to buy, I did communicate with Jorge, he said they fixed alignment Problem, as they found cause, and resolved.  I mention the DOT Problems, it is next on bucket list.

IMHO the best way to get this Razor Debugged is E-mail the company, spill your beans, praise the good, critique the bad, it is the only way the company will get feedback.  At my stage in life I tend to be brutally honest, I am not PC.  I am me.

Hey Frank Dragonsbeard
It does not reach the heights of the original, and like you I have yet to found a modern homage that does.
I found it a very good razor and one of the better homages out there.
I'm really guessing here when I say this, I think that if they polished the TopCap it would make a pretty big difference.

Price vs performance, there is not another US made adjustable razor that is even in the same game as it. (JMHO)

Thanks my old friend for the information. I’m excited as I have one coming to me to try out and with your endorsement and all the other positive reviews I’ve been reading.
