Got my order in today!! Woot!




For all of you who said it doesn't have a strong rose scent... you would be right. I smell a hint of it, but then I might be imagining it. Either way, as most stated as well, in spite of that, the stuff smells wonderful!

For all of you said its got a really strong artificial scent... at first I thought that was nuts. Smelling it off the top, it was a nice and subtle scent. But when I splashed some of the aftershave splash on, the scent took off. Then when I added to that some balm to see how it felt, the scent was a little if not a lot overpowering!

Of course i put a ton on and none of it was cut with the moisture that would be on the skin when or after shaving. I'm pretty sure I'll be fine, but the stuff is going to last forever because I'm not thinking I'll be using much on any given shave. I wonder if the soap will explode with fragrance like that too. Hope so.

Well that's my initial report. I'm probably more excited about the product now than I ever have been.

The finest rose scented soap I have ever used is Eufros Rosa Bourbon!! Absolutely wonderful stuff!!!

Shave Update:

Gentlemen, today I used my Rougére after not having shaved in two days! I’m not going to lie - Fabulious! My face feels freaking awesome!!

Ok, so I placed what I now know was an excessive amount of soap into my little mixing bowl and put as dry a brush on it as possible. I added a little water, nothing. A little more, nothing. A little more and boom! Lather. Some more mixing for good measure and you have a lather made for a photo shoot nice! I didn’t even have to add water later when doing my third pass - sweet.

I always know a soap is good if I can do a pass and a touch up without relathering. This stuff was awesome! It gave a level of protection second to none. Maybe too good, because when I was done (3 passes), I noted I had a ton of wearers, which is odd(ish). Maybe it was so protective I got sloppy lol.

Anyway, the Rougére splash with menthol after the shave was just awesome!! Cut with a little wather, the splash was pleasant cutting the powerful scent a little. When I put on the balm which really gives you hints of rose, I became a little saddened. I really wanted a Rose scent... the balm is nice but it reminds you the splash and soap needs a little more rose scent to really be called Rougére if you ask me.

That said, the combo of the soap, splash and balm left my face feeling freaking fantastic!! I don’t have to shave with it a second time to know I’d recommend it. It’s a quality set of products.

It is a very nice soap - I don't have any of the post shave stuff so I couldn't comment on their scent. I also completely understand what you mean about being so nice and slick you can get away (or you think you can) with a little carelessness or overzealousness and if you're using a really comfortable razor like a Rockwell 6s, soaps like these can be real technique destroyers. I find I'm at greater risk or weepers and nicks when using a really comfortable soap / razor combination because its just feels so smooth that next thing you know you're swinging that razor around like Errol Flynn swinging a cutlass in a pirate movie.

Well... I just contacted the supplier about it - my balm is useless because the dispenser is useless! That’s disappointing.
