How does it feel? Which plate and blade did you use? and soap and aftershave? Just curious. I didn't grow my beard this winter but I know that I enjoy the clean shaven feel after a few months of beardedness.

I used a clipper to get it down to 1.5 mm and then used the Rockwell on Plate #4. It was a great shave, perhaps my closest shave ever! I really missed shaving, but I think I may miss having a beard more! I'm already thinking of regrowing it. My face looks like a blank canvas without the beard.

If you grow your beard, think of all the money you'll save.
I could never let my beard grown, now, as I have too many grey hairs and I have lost most of my hair on my head. I look much younger with a shaved face and head.

You would not believe how much I spent on combs (6), boar brushes (1), oils (2), balms (2) and trimmers (1).
Don't be afraid to grow your beard. I received so many compliments on my grey beard.

I get my best shaves with a two day growth and the clipped down stubble is pretty nice to shave off. I know what you mean, when I have a beard I miss shaving and when I'm clean shaven I miss my beard. I'm not sure I appreciated the Santa Claus comments though. I still have some dark in there although its less each year. My kids (21 and 23) looked at our wedding pictures a little while ago and their comment was "who's that guy?" I'm only 58 but I guess 30 years can weigh on you.

Not to mention all the money I have invested in shaving gear that sits idle.

Thank you for the encouragement, but I don't like the way I look in a beard and much prefer the way my face feels when shaved.
