Great thread, but I wish it wasn't! I've been supremely happy with my 4 synthetics, having deep sixed a couple of cheap badgers. Felt that if I had to spend big bucks for decent badger, why bother since my synthetics were so satisfying and required no prep work prior to use. Now, along come you bunch of pitchmen and have me about convinced that this brush is badger that acts like its expensive brethren at a price point that appeals to me.
Well, I guess the closet can stand just one badger, right?
N.B. An English friend was telling me how Dachshunds are used to go into badger holes, root them out and kill them. Their body shape and high courage level makes it possible. I'm told that the badger, when backed up, is a most formidable foe, and not something that a full grown human should bother with. Hats off to the courageous little dachsund!
