They are an excellent blade. The 2nd best 7 O'Clock blade made in India IMO behind the long discontinued & unobtainium 7 O'Clock Diamond.

These are rarer than Republicans in San Francisco. Years ago I stumbled into a hanger on Ebay from an Indian seller in Canada whose father brought these over.

I picked up one of the metal boxes of the 7 O'Clock blacks when they threw in a bonus couple of tucks. (120 blades vs 100). They are more expensive than a lot of blades, but they are among my favorites  and the metal storage box is nice. I find the blades to be both sharp and smooth.

With my coarse beard and sensitive skin, I need both characteristics. Some blades like Nacets are as sharp, but are not as smooth. Some blade like the 7 O'Clock SharpEdge yellows are as smooth, but not as sharp. To me, they perform very much like BIC Chrome Platinum blades.  The Personna Platinum Chrome (Israeli red) and German Wilkinson Sword blades are also similar. If you use them, your shaving technique better be good as they are sharp enough to draw blood, especially after the 1st shave.

I was given a tuck a while back by Erchy and they are wonderful blades. As has been said before, sharp and smooth. I am a big fan of the P-Reds but find the G-Blacks even sharpen and smoother. They really shine in a milder gap razor. I never found the Diamondback 2020 to be super efficient until I tried a G-Black. The second shave of a G-Black is the sharpest. However for me the G-Blacks don't last as long as the Personna Red. From all the Gillette blades I have tried I find the Blacks their best offering.

I too am a fan of the Gillette 7 O’Clock Black blades.  Sharp and smooth and pretty darn good at holding their edge.  (Earlier on, I would use them for up to seven shaves, but these days I am trending down toward a max of four or five shaves per, for even the better blades).

Everyone's mileage differs. For what it is worth, based on this thread, I decided to try the Black blades.  Bought two packs from two different vendors, and tried them in my three daily razors.  No joy for me. Simply stated, I found them harsh (somewhat how I also find Nacets).  They gave close shaves but at a level of discomfort that wasn't worth it; I can get equally close shaves with Bics and Feathers.  Compared the Blacks back-to-back to the Yellows and, for me, at least, there was no comparison.  I use the Yellows a lot in my two more aggressive razors and always have an excellent shave.  With Bics and Feathers, they are my third usual blade.  So, basically, the Yellows work for me, the Blacks do not.  Oh well.  Each to their own.
