OK, maybe I got lucky again with OneBlade.
I was an early adopter of the v1, and as I've mentioned several times, I hate that I love the stainless version, because it produces a great shave with no thinking and no technique.
SharpSpine knows what I mean.
I had a couple of small customer service issues with the v1 (for example, the leather box had a rounded bottom) and they resolved them quickly and without question. I know others have had issues, but my experience (luckily) has been excellent.
Shaved with the Core this morning. No issues with insertion or removal of the blade. I can see a tiny flaw at the back of the razor just below where the blade is inserted, but I had to squint to see it. If it hadn't been mentioned in this thread, I doubt I would have noticed it.
The blade seemed to 'float' a bit when inserted-maybe this is the characteristic of the v2 that they were promoting.
The razor is a bit 'handle heavy', but no different than when I put a heavy SS handle on another razor. It didn't feel unbalanced to me, perhaps I just adjusted unconsciously.
The shave was outstanding. I'm not a fan of mild razors, and if I 'rode the pivot', i.e., put the flat part of the head against the skin and let the pivot do the work, it was too mild for me. Could hardly feel the blade.
When I steepened the angle, i.e., the handle more perpendicular, I could still feel the pivot working a bit, but the efficiency was increased. Still very comfortable.
With a usual amount of touchup, was able to get an irritation-free BBS shave. Still can't seem to get the area right under the nose, but took care of that with my trusty Schick 66.
I got this razor as a travel razor, but I've got to say it very well might go into the rotation.
