I really shouldn't read these to avoid setting up false expectations. I didn't have the time I wanted to look it over last night so I will go over it carefully tonight and as long as there does not appear to be any flaws (other than injection mold markings) I will use it tomorrow morning as I take Friday nights off. That will give me 1 1/2 days of growth. I will use the intended Feather blade.

I must say assuming no defects the only thing that bugs me is if the blade digs into the plastic or how the blade stops will hold up with gem blades as it's not meant for the gem blade. I knew these things going in but it's still a concern.

Thanks to all who have posted so far.

With virtually everything I have read here, both pro and con, I am still not interested.  Even the positive comments are, at best, good but not great and there is an awful lot of disappointment from quite a few members here.

Today, for the first time, I used a razor and a blade that were new to me.  The RazoRock aluminum HAWK and the Schick Proline P-30 blade combined to give me a beautiful BBS shave at 7:00 this morning.  It is now 3:45 P.M. and my face is still almost as smooth as it was when I first got done shaving.  The razor is ridiculously light and that took a bit of getting used to, though replacing the handle with a stainless steel one might go a long way to mitigate that.  The Schick Proline P-30 blade is the best artist club type blade I have used so far.  All I need to see with the blade is how long it will last.  Placement of the blade in the razor was a piece of cake.  The razor was only $25.00 and even if I add a Maggard stainless steel handle, like the M11, the total cost would still be about $10.00 less than the OneBlade CORE.  Also, there are several choices for blades.

As I stated earlier, my interest in getting a CORE is just about nil.

Just got my CORE in the mail. I'm pleasantly surprised at how good looking the razor is.

I wasn't expecting much for $50, but it's a nice looking razor. Not as nice as the other two SS OneBlades I have, of course, but I was impressed with the feel in the hand. Perhaps a little handle heavy, but not by much. Tried loading a Feather FHS, and it went in very smoothly.

I'll take it for a ride tomorrow, and see what's what.

FedEx dude just delivered mine. I opened it up immediately to inspect my prize. Looks fing awesome, I didn't know the weight rod was visible, pretty cool accent. The pivot pin is sloppy to the point of it mimicking the Flexball. After I wiggled the head around looking to see what the issue was;  i came to the realization that it was not worth my time, energy or effort. Poirot says "No!" Very poor tolerances  So I put this cool ass looking razor back in the box, taped it up and will kick it back to them tomorrow. Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy. Don't rave about a state of the art manufacturing process that produces this kind of results. Dude, its not that great. I'm not a test mule for them to use  exploiting  my time and money to sort out their mistakes. Epic rtm FAIL !

In summary-- $50 POS !

Mine just arrived today. I'm leaning toward returning it unopened. I'm happy with my other razors, but I was curious. That curiosity is waning.

Impression after second shave: A wetter lather helps. Cleaning the glue/wax dots makes the loading process less awkward.

After 3.5 passes I got a DFS- shave that resulted almost 0 feedback from alum. This is a very 'friendly to skin' razor for sure. Still can't get over the fact that the blade stop made of plastic and will probably be shaved off with time. I honestly didn't know how OneBlade works. If I knew the blade stops are like GEM razors, I wouldn't buy a razor that's made of plastic.

Those who used both core and genesis, is the blade supposed to be fixed? or floating blade technology means it is supposed to move when inserted?

i don't want to harp on this and to each his/her own but it seems it's been confirmed that you can return it for a full refund within 30 days used or unused. . If that is the case and the razor is not defective I don't see the harm in taking it for a test drive if nothing else just to satisfy your curiosity and say you tried it good or bad.

Please tell me if I am missing something with the return policy. Thank you.

If this OneBlade doesn't attract cartridge users, the Norelco one might: http://deals.kinja.com/the-incredible-ph...1796182188

"Shave any length - not as close as a traditional blade so your skin stays comfortable."

Which means it is a glorified beard trimmer. No thanks Smile
