How about the plastic shaving off when inserting the blade? Too much play in the one I received. Fell apart, blade shaved the plastic. Not my idea of a $50 anything?

This razor launch is looking more and more like an epic meltdown.

Are the stops on this thing really the plastic that a blade is going to damage and cut through eventually (Photo of blade misaligned from reddit)?

Just got mine today and was immediately disappointed!! The left side is cracked and the right side has a chunk taken out with jagged edges which interferes with the blade. I knew I should've went with my gut! I always criticized OB for their business model and outrageous pricing and said I'd never ever purchase one... When the $50 option became available I still said no way because of the plastic... After thinking about it, I figured what the hell, I'll try it and if it arrives as I anticipated (but hoped it wouldn't) than I'd just take it back. Well, that's exactly what I'm doing! I've already contacted them but have yet to hear back. It's going back either for a new razor or for my $50 back because this is no where near worth $50. I'm considering just returning it for my money and disregarding the option of replacing it for a new razor, as these issues seem to be very wide spread and I'll probably get another one just as defective. What a shame... I'm saying "I told ya so" to myself. What's most annoying is the fact that they are shipping out razors that are jacked up and falling apart... One look and you can tell it's defective. Good companies would never ship something like that to so many customers!

If you have ordered one, return it without opening.

If you are thinking about ordering one, don't.

If you are stupid like me who ordered one and opened it after reading everything, well, we have made worse choices in life.

I can go into details, but core isn't worth discussing. The blade stopper will get a 'bbs' before I get one.

Iamsms.... You know you can still return it even if you opened it... to my understanding it's 30 day money back guarantee.

I opened mine up a few hours ago. my handle near the head has some markings on it and the head itself, where the blade would get inserted, almost has like a marring mark on it or something like that. I'm not sure if maybe this is where the excess plastic was cut off from the head or what. I'll try to capture some good photos in the AM when it's brighter outside.

as for the razor feel itself, I don't know if I like it - it almost seems weird and incredibly unbalanced. I wish it were either left to be very light or made heavy...the top of the handle and the razor head are very light while the bottom of the handle feels very heavy to me.

The packaging though is top notch. for $50, it's a lot better than most higher end razors out there, in my opinion.

can anyone confirm 100% that this razor can be returned AFTER its been used?

Wait and see what you think and if it works for you. Ill give it go over the next several days to evaluate the razor before making up my mind.

I guess you're right. It will be awhile before I get to see if mine if it has any issues but crossing my fingers it arrives just fine.

@"iamsms" , Did they refuse to take it back after being opened? I understand that you are upset, though it would be helpful to others that ordered one to know.

The only verbiage I could find says, "and include 100% money-back within 30 days of delivery." Nothing is said about opening it or not.

I had high hopes for this razor and am concerned about the number of folks that have received defective units. I'm also concerned about how hard it is to install the blade and the plastic blade stops. It's starting to look like they didn't thoroughly test the new design before release. Same thing on quality control checks on the manufacturer.
