I LOVE dates. I enjoyed the most amazing dates on a work trip to Saudi Arabia several years ago. I had tried several different date varieties and they were all incredible.

The dates I buy from California are juicy and moist, not dry, so I think they last much longer when frozen.

From http://flyingdiscranch.com/dates.html:

"Dates like a cool and dry environment. After we harvest the dates, we keep them in a walk-in cooler on the ranch that is kept at 36 degrees F. Dates store well at room temperature depending on their moisture content. In general, zahidi and deglet noor dates need no refrigeration whereas medjhool and barhi store much better cold."

Perhaps try zahidi or deglet noor dates if you want to store them for a long time? Or just eat them right away. Wink They are great with coffee in the morning.
