I'm not familiar with the SN. B&B has a good deal of elitist snobbery and intolerance from the "stewards" down to the rank and file, although I'm pleased to see that it has diminished lately.

Talking about the other forums is like that dreaded first ( and last) date. You know, they spend the evening talking about their last BF/GF all night?

As for misunderstood products, have you ever wondered why you think you are the only one so it must be you?  In my case, it's the RazoRock HAWKs, both the aluminum (or Air HAWK, as my friend calls it Winking) and the stainless steel version.  I recently got both and truly enjoy, and use, them but, while it seems like most, if not all, prefer the stainless HAWK, I find that of the two I tend to lean more towards the aluminum.  I actually like the light weight and find it easier to maneuver the razor around my face and neck.  With both models I find it easy to compensate for the low/no pressure rule so that doesn't come into it for me.

All of my razors go from very light to quite heavy and this preference for the "Air" HAWK does not carry over to my other lightweights.  For those of you who may have had the opportunity to try both of these razors, is there anyone else who feels the same as I or am I alone on this?

I do have both and I tend to agree somewhat with your analogy, I do enjoy both but I like to use my Al version with a SS handle or the RR Ti handle.

I am used to using a SS razor so the AL version does feel a bit light.

I can see why people differentiate between the two, but I think it`s because the Al is a bit lighter so they add a bit more pressure to compensate.

They are both great for me.

My misunderstood products are lighter razors.

I have (and love) both aluminum and titanium RR Baby Smooths. I often hear "I have both and the shave is better with the heavier titanium model." It's the exact same shave for me. It's just a matter of sticking with a certain razor and getting used to whatever its weight until it clicks. I may have paid more for a heavier metal or material but if I'm being really honest the shaves are indistinguishable from each other. It's the same design.Wink

I was being facetious. My point was that criticizing someone for being banned from two of the most ban-happy forums around is silly at best. Think of SN as B&B 2.0, and just as badly behaved.

Max, I agree.  I get excellent shaves from both and have no complaints about either razor.  I just find the lighter weight permits more maneuverability.  Sometimes I'm in the mood for the heavier weight of the stainless steel razor but I think if I could only have one then I would probably go with the aluminum.

As for putting a stainless handle on the aluminum head, while I could certainly do that, I find that they are perfectly balanced as they came so I leave them as is.

I don`t mind either with the handles that they came with , but I like to mix it up.

My misunderstood product is probably the BlackBird SB. When I first got it, I couldn't get the hang of it. It drags, the corners are sharp etc.

One time I picked it up for a shave just for kicks, then it clicked. It's been my daily driver ever since. That's why I usually revisit some of my stuff, once in a while I stumble upon hidden gems.

Great comment! And a similar experience with the Blackland Blackbird (solid bar) for me. From the first shave, I loved its efficiency, but the thing just felt rough and dangerous. The feel after the shave kept me coming back week after week, and about two or three weeks in it was like a switch was flipped, and I haven’t had any issues with it since – just the best shaves ever. Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”
