I'm using a few Mike's soaps this week and getting a nice reminder of how good the stuff is. Pine & cedarwood yesterday, vetiver today, rose & cedarwood on deck for tomorrow.

Same paper label on top and label w/ ingredients on the bottom.

I used his soaps years ago. Found them hard to lather, but that may have been my being new to wet Shaving.

Are they still hard to obtain? Way back when, he was always out of stock...

It seems like more options are in stock nowadays, there’s still several that are out of stock but you can have more than one to choose from in both bars and tubs.

As I'm looking at my den for my great den purge of 2018 I think this lone tub of Mike's will remain in the den.

That's one of my favourite Mike's soapsSmile Also like that Chatillon Lux toner too.

It's the perfect match to this soap at least I think so. I find a lot of other orange scented soaps give off that artificial industrial cleaner type scent.

I know what you mean - I'm always hesitant when I see orange in the scent notes. Its the most challenging of the citrus notes to use well I think.

From his main site it's sometimes difficult. But he has also branched out to have places like Maggards sell a subset of his line. Mainly the popular ones.

Received my Mikes Orange & Black Pepper. I’m traveling in New Mexico and figured the water would be pretty hard, so I loaded the bloomed puck for a solid 40 seconds.

Used a Maggard’s synthetic brush that was damp, wrung out. Wow!

Had my trusted Variant and a fresh Voskhod, heavy 3-day beard. Added a little water as I face lathered.

First pass on 2.5 mowed most of it down. Second pass on 3 was good. 4.5 for final pass ATG was awesome.

Post shave feel is exceptional! Even though it’s quite chilly here, I finished with LaToja AS instead of a balm. I feel like the clay had a lot to do with post shave.

My opinion of Mikes is high and restored. Get some!!

Mike's Natural is a artisan that has been around for a while. Excellent performance and proud to support a local artisan (TTFFC is another one from Michigan, and apparently L&L/ Declaration Grooming as well).

Mikes for me was the artisan that started it all. A top, tier base that has stood the test of time and quite a few years later has remained unchanged and just as good. A must try in my opinion.

Glad I gave him another shot. Also happy he ditched the metal tins.
