Merkur Progress

Since the bottom is ugly, I changed it to a new one.
I dug it out with a regular office knife for 30 minutes and processed brass into an NC machine.
How is it? Does it look okay?

Why doesn’t Merkur replace that plastic knob on future razors with a metal one?

Seems like a no brainer.

A beautiful improvement 

I’m not sure of Merkur’s thought process in designing a pretty decent razor but deciding to stick that ugly plastic knob on it. I think it’s universally disliked.

Because it's worked well enough since 1955. A lot of us think it's just fine and helps balance the short handle version just right.
