Does anyone here subscribe to meal delivery? Ex: Blue Apron, Plated, Hello Fresh, Etc.
Which one do you prefer, and why?

My wife and I used Blue Apron for a year or two, and recently switched to Hello Fresh. It's really nice to come home and not have to think about what to cook, and plan grocery runs for your weekly meals. I select which recipes I'm interested in on a weekly basis, and I get them shipped to me once a week for around $60 (3 meals, feeding 2 people).
We switched from Blue Apron to Hello Fresh mainly because the Blue Apron meals were a little over the top. It was really fun for awhile making dishes we have never heard of or tried before, but, we noticed ourselves enjoying the meals less and less over time mainly since they tended to take longer to cook.
Hello Fresh are more 'typical' American recipes- familiar to most palates and a bit simpler to make.
My only complaint is that portion sizes are not always consistent, and more often than not I am left hungry. Overall we really enjoy it- it's fun to cook, especially since I tend to have a lack of creativity in the kitchen when I have to come up with a meal myself Smile

If anyone here wants a free box, I have several coupon codes to pass out.

I used a service for a while. The one I used delivered local vegetables, and you could select different sized boxes. At first you couldn't select what came in them, but after a while they had their website modified to where you could choose some things, or block certain items permanently (distaste, allergies, whatever reason). When they first started coming they came very early in the morning and were always fresh. After a while they were coming later and later, to the point whhen I received my box many leafy items were wilted, and visually looked terrible. I let it slide for a bit thinking they were getting their route changed up etc, but it never got better. I decided to cancel, but they still kept coming and they kept charging me. I ended up having to call my bank to stop payment, and after several calls to the service, they finally stopped delivering. After a little while they had the nerve to call me to see if I had a change of heart to continue service. NO THANKS!

I think it was a relatively new business, and were possibly working out the kinks, which is why I let the wilted groceries slide for a little bit. After I cancelled and they kept delivering, and charging, and several attempts to cancel my subscription I couldn't deal with that any longer. It's been a few years now, maybe they have worked out their service better, but I would definitely do a little research first this time regarding the service and quality of goods.
