I finally acquired the complete set of Martin De Candre. Anyone else a fan of MDC? It’s a no frills soap that just works for me.

Wow, that awesome. If you find something that works for, you should absolutely go with it. Looks like some good scents, many of which I've seen posted on the Soap for the Day thread.

I've never tried MDC, but seen enough reviews to know it's good stuff.

Congrats!

Thank you, these days it’s not the absolute best with all the artisans plush soaps out there. The post shave on it doesn’t have that amazing face feel, but what I like about mdc is it’s ease of lather and it’s very slick and provides enough protection for me. Also the scents are simple but done extremely well.

Fougere is my absolute favorite. Followed by Rose and then Vetyver. As always YMMV though. Maggards has samples I believe, might be worth checking out.

I’m interested to know which artisan soaps you were referring to below as I haven’t tried any yet…just Sampson’s all natural if it counts. Thanks!
Just took advantage of that thank you for the tip. Brain bowl for $65 delivered is good enough for me.

Going by how long the puck of MCD lasts, I guess you're going to be set for a few years. Post back in a few years from now to show much you've used each and we can debate if you really used them at all !

How do you find the Rose scent. Strong,  mild, Thayer's rose types?  Appreciate if you can describe.

Nice collection! I am a big fan of the MdC. Recently, I’ve had the Agrumes and the “Original”in regular rotation. Ilike it for the same reasons you cited, easyto lather, simple classic scents, good slickness and cushion (provided it is hydrated properly). The post shave is pretty good also, though it allows me to enjoy a separate post shave balm also. (Sometimes the more modern “all-in”one” soaps leave my post shave products feeling neglected).
