Yeah. I don't get this at all. It does look a little bit like the Hone. What am I turning on? Why do I want this razor to vibrate? What is the supposed benefit. That was all left vague on the site.

My sentiments, as well.  Talk about acquisition disorders. Big Grin

As for the vibration, it depends on how it's done.  Assuming the charging process is safe then it might prove beneficial, or not.  On a Gillette Fusion, which I do use, especially when traveling, I find the vibration helps; there is less blade tugging.  I also have a working Stahly and on it I truly find it nothing more than a gimmick.

Should the razor actually come to market then I shall look forward to the reviews and the price.

I don't know. I know Gillette had a vibrating razor. I tried it. Seemed pointless. I think this is a gimmick. It might be wonderful, but as someone whose thrown away their fair share of electric razors and other gadgets, it just feels like something that will ultimately break. In my opinion the beauty of a safety razor is in the simplicity of the technology it employs to solve a problem. I know my DE razors will all long out live me. There's no way that this one will if you want the vibrating portion to hold up. All the while acknowledging that I'm probably not the market for this, and the there will be a market and they'll love it.

As I mentioned above, I do find the vibration helpful in a modern Gillette Fusion.  However, overall I agree with you.  The STAR DE razor that dates from the 1940s or 50s, that I purchased on eBay for the princely sum of $8.00, gives me the most fantastic BBS shaves.  It is a simple three piece razor that was probably meant to compete with the likes of the Gillette Tech.  Unscrew it, place blade, put it back together, shave.  No vibration necessary.  And, as you say, that razor will outlive me.

For all of that, I'm still curious to see where this modern take on the DE goes.  My guess is, if nothing else, the price will probably keep me in check.

With my Gillette Fusion, I love ATG with vibration.
It makes shaving smoother.
I feel something similar to slant cut.
Moving the hair, I feel the edge sweeter.
More in difficult (for me) passes as ATG/XTGR.

I have two of those including a rare 'Club' one. There are pre-war type slotted ones and post-war types as well as it was/is a blatant Tech copy, but they do shave just a tad closer IMO.
