I'm curious what your thoughts are on the scent of B&M Jacinthe?

I used it for this morning’s shave and, first of all, Barrister_N_Mann continues with some of the finest performing soaps out there.  The Jacinthe was easy to load on my synthetic brush, felt wonderful on my skin, and was completely non irritating, something that I almost take for granted with a B&M soap.

I really like the scent but I am terrible at descrpitions.  To me, it’s not overly sweet, which one might expect from the listed scents, and yet it is not a leather, tobacco, heavy scent, either.  Somehow, there is a pleasant balance that I quite like.  This is going to sound off but I almost detect the beginnings of a subtle chocolate so, Will, if I’m completely off base, I apologize.  I finished off the shave with some of hawns‘s Chatillon Lux La Quatrième Ville Toner and I thought the scents of the soap and toner complemented each other nicely.

Again, I am not very good at describing scents but these are some first impressions.

Thank you for your thoughts on the soap, Freddy!  Your comments are exactly what I was looking for, just your initial impressions.

I don't have what I would consider a "sophisticated" nose.  For me, it's usually, "Smells good!" or "Doesn't smell good!"  Although, I like to think I'm learning with the wonderful scent profiles produced by both Barrister_N_Mann  and hawns.  It's a great time to be into wet shaving!

Enjoy, Freddy!

I could not have said it better myself. Happy2

Just scored this trio. Naturally, I had to pick up the shave soap to go with the AS.

You smell the pear, Freddy. It's sweet and round, and its interaction with the tomato leaf gives a richer impression than it might show off on its own. Smile

Ah, thanks so much, Will. I wondered what part the tomato leaf played. Nicely done. Happy2

I was wondering who bought that lovely large brush, Andrew. Congratulations! However, you should be careful with larger brushes as they can become quite addictive and that won't be a good thing for your wallet, let me tell you. Wink
